If you attack the village (Viking path)
-You lose around 6 mission in town as you said, that translate in a lot of sp
-You lose the oportunity to get another companion
+6000 gold
(this should be balanced maybe by giving sp after each battle, correct me if im wrong but as far I know sp is not given here)
If you are nice and so (merchant path)
-You lose around 6000 gold
+1 Companion
+Sp
But I believe there is a way around not very nice but still there is, side with the village do theyre quests and then exit town do the quests of york and then pillage the monasteries.
This way I believe you get:
+6000 gold (plus gold of quests another things)
+1 Companion
+ Sp for the misions
-You miss killing the villagers and the villager chief
There is 1 Thing I want to know, If we help Northumbrians king do we alliance with them? so If I want to conquer them just have to fail or not do his quest?
No, everyone in village attacks me on approach, I get -50 north faction and maybe my diplo is too low. But there are 3-4 other quests in Scarborough alone, and this all happens if you choose to do the "right" thing by helping the Mercians, which is kind of messed up.
If I'm wrong, educate me, walk me through the way I help the mercians and go viking without locking myself out of a lot of SP, and content. It just doesn't seem like there's nearly as much there for a viking as for a peaceful explorer, which was unexpected to me.
I dont know what other quests than the ones you and me mentiond do you mean ?
Like I said you cant do the Wearth in the woods, and you cant help villagers with the poor family who causes trouble, all the rest of the quests will still work fine. You can talk to the poet and you can follow your fathers expedition trail, You can still do quests in york and all. Also I think you can all the way thru pretend to be a peaceful trader and if you gather 100 power you can still betray your alliance after you win the war for whichever the country you went with.
Edit: YEs Mayor and VIllagers will attack you but they dont include Poet :P
No you can still attack them afterwards.
You can still get the companion even when attacking the monastery. Not sure if a bug/oversight or working as intended tho.
Yeah you can still froce the monk to follow you, its intended :P
I actually consider it the most moral way of approaching this quest. The only reason I don't is to politk my relations with the natives for a later monastary invasion.
