sorry for late response.
Well round about 6% in 5.1 is normal. Is over 6% more a peake or more the avarage CPU load?
Does over 6% depends to your application or is it even in all applications?
Generally you can simply bypass the SSC processing while it runs if you disable the Headphone Surround 3D button left hand at the foot bar of the GUI.
Because of the SSC act as a standard audio driver, what enable to use the SSC with all of your audio application, the driver has to be loaded into the RAM when the system starts. After you start the SSC it becomes to be the standard audio driver. If you close it later the OS doesn’t get aware of this and the SSC can’t do it because it’s shut down. Thats why you can’t hear anything SSC driver keeps to be the standard audio device after shut down the SSC but it doesn’t work.
Indeed the user should get informed about this issue anyway what we have in mind for the next update. The information should be, and this is the solution for your problem now, that after shut down the SSC one have to go to the playback tab of the Sound menu to change manually from SSC to the hardware device of the computer.
Looking forward to your response,
Best,
Tom:)
funny thing is that on my old amd 4-core fx-4100 cpu oc'd @ 4,5GHz, i got cpu usage THE SAME as with this core 2 duo cpu clocked @ 3,00GHz. like wtf! oh well Amd's Ryzen is coming soon, however i'm not going back to amd anytime soon.
can't wait for my new Xeon to arrive...its old xeon but suits my need better then this core2duo.
Best,
Tom:)
cpu usage dropped from 20% to 6-8 % with latency target @ 11.6 ms
works pretty damn well now, and sounds even more awesome :D
Have fun, as much as possible!
Best,
Tom:)
