Hi,
I'm not familiar with 'oratorys curve eq via peace'. What is that?
Generally, the Headphone EQ presets offers some general presents to tune your experience your way. Also, the Room Parameter allows more tuning to enhance the sound. Decide by yourself what you like;)
Best,
Tom

Hi Tom, first of all thanks for answering my questions about matching the 5.1 vs 7.1 settings in my email today. that was me =)

oratory is someone who measures headphone models professionally and then posts equalizer settings online that bring the headphones as close to the harman curve as possible.

"equalizer apo" is a program for pc,it is one of the ways recommended to apply these EQ settings in windows. "Peace" is just a plugin interface for this program.

this is a direct quote from "Oratory1990" (it´s someone on the internet, I do not know this person) in regards to using his measured eq settings for games.

"The whole idea behind the Harman Target is to make the headphone as transparent as possible, to have the headphone influence the sound as little as (reasonably) possible.
Following that logic, I would assume that in order to hear the sound from the game as-is, without alterations, one would use the Harman Target for this application as well"

I assumed that meant it was like having your tv´s picture calibrated to a industry standard, but for headphones sound. But I may be wrong.

I have no education, experience (in audio) and very little knowledge about audio , I just read many people on the internet said they felt many models of headphones sound better with it.
I wanted to get the most out of my headphones so I tried it and it kinda grew on me, my beyerdynamics dt1990pro are nice without it, but with it I feel they are a bit smoother.
But perhaps it is just that I have gotten used to the way it sounds now.

But since changing earpads can mess up the EQ measuments I figured perhaps applying virtual surround and stuff would mess with the sound so much there is no point in trying to pre-eq them to the harman curve to begin with.

there is no preset for EQ dt1990pro in spatial sound card this is why I as asking about this.
I felt this was perhaps a bit out of the scope of what I reasonably should be asking support about so I left it here in case someone who knows more about this than me stumbled onto it and was kind enough to answer.

Besides the EQ portion which I´m still not sure of, I found the settings I like the best are SHANGHAI with long room parameters. At least for gaming on the gear I have atm.
Makes games feel cinematic and immersive but with very good audio ques for positioning of sounds. I like a bit of punch to the sound but to much on either end aggravates my tinnitus.

Lastly I´d like to say that you being so active on these forums is one of the reasons I decided to give spatial sound card a try , always nice to see a developer that takes such interest in helping his customers out.
As you can probably tell I have no idea what I´m doing with all this audio stuff I´m just trying random stuff out until I like how things sound.

Hi,
Who an extensive answer;)
I would say finally your taste counts not what experts say;)
If I can get a headphone, I measure them. Maybe I get yours anytime, then you will find it in the SSC.
I've never heard about the 'harman curve' but I can tell you, our measurements are made by me individually and finally shall make the frequency response even. Not less but also not more.
Best regards,
Tom:)
