Spatial Sound Card

What does all of this mean!!!
Okay so im a avid gamer (fps) and my headphones are Logitech G533 but i also listen to music pretty heavily and i wanted to enhance it. Im curious what settings i should have for it but i dont know what anything means if it isnt self explanatory. What settings should I have for location, room parameters and headphone EQ? i heard short parameters are good for gaming and i know there are differences in the locations but im honestly not sure what im really asking what settings would be the best for gaming

It would be good if we could have another thread for "My favorite settings for game X with headphone brand Y"

The Locations are, I think according to the dev, the concert halls of those cities. Choosing one enables the reverberation characteristic of each of those concert halls.
It seems New York is a small hall, while Sydney is a large hall - according to my hearing, but I could be wrong.

EQ is equalizer. You can adjust gains on your low (bass), medium, or high (treble) frequency.

My preference:
Location: Dubai
Room Parameter: Mid
Headphone EQ: Loudness 2 (adds bass and treble - makes a lot of games sound clearer)

The setting will depend on your personal sound preference for games, and your headphone characteristics, so YMMV.

And there's one config that I believe should be checked...
The playback device to which the SSC outputs to (in my case onboard Realtek) now has the option to configure "Stereo", "Quadrophonic", "5.1 channel", "7.1 channel" in the Windows sound config. I believe this is supposed to be set to "Stereo", otherwise I think it introduces downmixing by Windows that could negatively affect the sound.

Hi everybody,

well, yes it's a bit tricky but no rocket science. Indeed we do not offer Cinema, Music and Game presets because finally it is a matter of taste where you prefer to play your game, listen to your music etc. Certainly, each of you would prefer a different setting as each other. So we decided to solve this conflict by naming the Locations simply with well-known city names. So some love to play games in NY and watch movies in Dubay and some other love to listen to music in Sydney and play some games in Paris but some other games in Shanghai. So the content and your taste rules your settings individually;)

So the Locations are not concert halls in that cities, there are unique professional studio measurements behind.

Headphone EQ settings are to compensate the coloration of your headphone or can also simply enhance the sound experience, however you want.

The format selection we offer reconfigure the audio format windows/Mac is running in. This is necessary that e.g. games, who check while booting the available sound format, run in 5.1 or 7.1 if possible. So in that case, the game delivers 6 or 8 channels to the SSC and we play it out over the virtual speakers of the SSC. So we only do a downmix if you disable the Headphone Surround 3D virtualization.

Could we enlighten the task a bit?

Kind regards,
Tom:)
