Map, questions, impressions
Well, first, I made a map for people as lost as I was: http://imgur.com/a/LS74E There is a spoiler free map with just the layout and a full map :D

Second, I have some questins left:
Is there any secret in the Clocktower? I tried coming there with different insanity levels, after exploring Noah's lab, tried dying to the spikes... :D Is it just that small room?

Does the parry damage increase with swords upgrades? It does say it still does 80, but, for example, the unupgraded sword kills a maid with a parry+two hits and an upgraded parry-one-shots them. And a very upgraded parry-one-shots everything :D I think it does more damage to bosses too, despite showing the same number.

And lastly THIS GAME WAS AWESOME! I've started my journey by dying 5 times in the tutorial, then proceeded to the manor to die again and again and again again. And to get lost. And to loose my vitae. And to loose the place where I lost it. And to run into a boss, die and never find that boss again. And to rage despair quit several times. And... ok, the first thing I did aside from aimlessly wandering around was to kill the maid in the North Hallway a million times to get the hang of the sword parrying and earn some vitae. I also found some npcs offering upgrades, but because I didn't know what to level up and Yth stones seemed to be a rare resource, I've decided to get smth for vitae. Like a blessing. Yes, the more expensive one, please, it must be a better one! Hmm, I don't see any changes, give me a small one too. Ok, still nothing, I'll get back to exploration. Wait what is THAT?! And THAT?!! THAT WASN'T HERE BEFORE! When I first ran into my corpse, I had to turn on the light in the room. When I ran into a room FILLED with my corpses, I had to turn on ALL the lights. Unfortunately, I had to end the session without any real progress, cause I didn't master gun parries and scary monsters were devastating me.
The next day I've started a new game armed with a pencil, a notebook and determination. And, hell, making a map and figuring out how everything connects was as fun as fighting enemies. The only thing I regret is that before going to the third boss I poured all the stones into Iaito and the game became too easy. I then made another playthrough, without upgrades, and it felt much better.

TL;DR: awesome game, had a blast, will play again, thank you, devs!

First, wonderful map.

Second there is nothing secret there.

It does increase I recently made the change about a week and a half ago.

Ahahha that is a funny thing to read, I am happy about how your experience turned out in the end. It's always super encouraging to hear about how ppl had fun with the game.
Thank you for sharing :)

Incidentally we just did a stream so if you want to know about some of the reasons for some of the stuff check it out.

Again thanks for sharing :D

Thank you! :D

Shame, I was hoping there is something else I haven't seen yet.

Good to know, I was confused and for some time thought the second knight is just very weak to parrying.

Thanks for the link, I'm watching it!

Well, it is definitely worth watching, cause at 7 minutes I've learnt two new mechanics :D
edit: three

There are a lot of obscure mechanics due to the sanity system. Glad you liked it.

You are an evil designer, but in a good way :D

Btw, not sure if intended, but I found an infinite resource of Yth stones: kill butler in the tutorial, die to the maid or Waltham, repeat :D

Thank you so much, I needed that map badly. I'm using it very very sparingly, only to find where certain upgrade NPCs are. +1

Once you beat the first boss most npcs move in to the save room.

LoL I only found one boss and he/she (think it was a she) sliced me to ribbons. Then again, I spent most of the fight trying to run away and find an exit... which I know now was useless. I'm still scratching the surface with this game. Having fun exploring and getting combat down till I'm a spinning whirlwind of steel and lead :D

It gets easy fast, according to most players anyways.

That's part of the reason I'm having fun, because I know this isn't a very big game so I'm not trying to make it get easy fast. I'm just exploring and killing things without any real objective. Eventually I'm gonna buckle down and systematically take out every bad guy, but for now I'm gonna wander kill and die, just listening to the creepy ass music and the awesome pixel art.

Oh you will have fun, especially if you figure the story out. Creeps abound.
this map is FANTASTIC! I got in on this game now that Into the Fray is released, decided to shotgun the whole series. Just saw credits. This game's SO GOOD!

Thank you but its the roughest of the 3 since it was my first finished game. Eventually I plan to remake it in full 3d.
