Mouse sensitivity could be a problem so try reducing it.
Auto aim could also be involved, with the target lock being lost and locking onto the wrong target. Try turning this off.
Gun stabilzation can also cause this. Movement of the tank or the turret can cause the gun to bounce. Some tanks seem to be more susceptible to this and I use the Verticle Stabilizer equipment on those.
(You can also use this bounce to your advantage. Firing during the bounce can give you a few degrees of extra gun depression or elevation).
It seems to happen on all servers so far.
I'll try adjusting the sensitivity (saw that one on Google as well). I tried the auto aim (already off).
It's definitely not the 'normal' bounce from driving over rough terrain - that usually only affects vertical placement. This is more like what would happen if a giant came over and decided to flick the gun sideways with his finger.
Still happening after an update, unfortunately. Not going to be playable anymore. Oh well.
I guess the best way to describe the movement is that it's a bit like the janky camera movement when you're reversed up against a building or steep hill, where it can sometimes get into a state where it doesn't know which way to swing, so it just flicks from one side to the other erratically. Except it's doing this while I'm trying to take a shot from flat ground, and haven't even moved the mouse for 10 seconds.
I’m sorry to hear that,
It won’t hurt to send a ticket in to support wit full inforation on your mouse and settings. I’ve seen posts aboyt auto aim reticle problems, but this sounds different. Perhaps they will have a solution.
Thanks everyone for trying to help.
Well done! And thanks for the post with a solution.
It's very strange, but it was doing the same thing again yesterday. It's odd that it seemed to fix it (repeatable, every time) for a few days, and then it stopped working again.
