The sheer amount of people who see someone's stats in an Annalator always cry and say "the only reason you have good stats and WR is because of your Annalator". Yet...so many scrubs have a 40% WR in them or less...and somehow are never told the above.
Bottom line it is a very good tank that can hold it's own against T7/8 and completely dominate T6. So much so that WG had to change the way the Matchmaker works for Annalator players in Regular Mode in that the MM will attempt to find a match for match Annalator on Red and Green.
No other tank in the game has that special consideration in the Matchmaker. Of which we are told the matchmaker NEVER and CANNOT match people by specific tank for years by the WG White Knight "no such thing as rigging" Defenders...until WG had to admit they can do so and did make it so with the Annalator....
Very true.
Looking at it's stats on https://blitzanalysiz.com/update/10.8/7/ that's exactly the way the Annihilator has performed. Unless you already have a 55+% winrate it's not going to help your winrate as much as other tanks will.
The Annihilator is not in the top 20 tanks with the best relative winrate, a measure of how OP each tank is. Relative winrate shows how much on average a tank will help or hurt a player's winrate. Interestingly, while it may be popular among average or below average players, it's not in the top 20 best retalive winrates for players with 55% or less winrates. Very good players do better in it with the Annihilator reaching #12 amongy 55%-65% wr players. When the best players drive the Annihilator it can be a beast - it is #1 among 65+% wr players.
What's special about the Annihilator? It has the highest tier 7 damage and kills.
Thke Annihilator used to have a better relative winrate, but all of that changed when the Annihilator got its MM shadow nerfed. Now it's competing against another Annihilator (or sometimes a Black Prince). It can still be a bully against other tanks but when one Anni wins, another loses. What's left is the relative skill of the players. A very good player has the skills to turn a good tanks into an OP tank.
Wargaming has always had the ability to give tanks special consideration and has admitted that they have done so. Two tanks have preferential matchmaking, the Valentine II and the Pz.Kpfw. B2 740 (f) will never be low tier (except in a platoon).
What they haven't admitted, afaik, is that they have given the Annihilator special consideration. It's a bigger shadow nerf than the minor one they gave to the Smasher a month or so later. They even announced the change to the Smasher's AP shell velocity, correctly calling the lack of a velocity decrease a mistake. A nerf by any other name is still a nerf.
Who plays them? When you're in battles and you see one look what w/l they are? 90% chance they are 40%ers. Rarely do I see better players using them. Like you see a platoon of two Analhilators, you know they are two trash players and this gives the the ONLY chance they have at winning a battle. I see two Analhilators in a platoon on my team? I go all Rambo "you're my worst nightmare" because I KNOW I'm chalking up a L.
now be 10 years ? who know in end of all battle( heaven) be play fair game without broken mechanics and sht moneystation in game for profit
what you all see is bully in epic propotion
The Annalator cannot hit a mountain broadside while moving either.
Frankly I have not problem killing an Annalator in almost any tank. They are slow, turret turns slow and they catch on fire often.
Like any other tank it has it's pros and cons. People just don't respect it enough to deal with correctly and cry they are OP. It's how I destroy scrubs all the time in mine and laugh all the time while doing so.
Is's also a hull down beast like any American Heavy.
