During the CC-Dev summit stream Droodles asked why he wasn't a CC. The answer was that he used information in his videos that had been datained in violation of the EULA. One of the dev's also said that they might take legal action. That was probably his personal view. I doubt that Droodles was actually enough of a pain in the neck for them to do that. Both Droodles and his source have been more careful since then anyway.
While Wargaming can and sometimes has used more severe penalties, it also takes a more gradual and merciful approach than other game companies. You can appeal almost any ban. There were also a few pardons of permanent chat bans one Christmas. (Sadly, one of the players who had been pardoned didn't learn from the experience and got another permaban in January).
Currently Droodles is posting video's in which he uses a press account and plays new tanks unlocked for him by Wargaming. I'm assuming that WG is comfortable with how he is behaving now and is willing to work with him on some things.
I don't know if he is formally a Community Contributor, and have my doubts about that. WG gives tanks and bundles to CC's to give awasy,. I haven't seen any of that in his videos.
WG recently has tripled the number of gifts CC's can give away. It's a good time to keep an eye on their videos, websites and Discord servers. It never hurts to enter a free giveaway contest, you might even win something.
The guy had no life and lived to lord over that forum for years until he and his little band of sychophants drove away 90% of the traffic from it.
WG has a method of IP Banning for actual game accounts and has RARELY ever used such. Even then that doesn't ban alt game accounts unless the alts are using the same IP address.
As for banning game accounts in general these days, unless you have a massive amount of proof submitted via a TICKET WG doesn't give two sh!ts about banning game accounts for 99.9% of the complaints via the ingame reporting tool or even tickets. That is an automated tool that tallies up player reports and is automated to ban a user from chat for a period of time or an actual ingame temporary play ban of which I have never encountered anyone saying they were game play banned via the reporting tool other then chat bans.
They want the MONEY from EVERYONE they can get it from. Banning game accounts forever is like a drug dealer killing off his customers.
In Droodles case here he posted the blatant TOS violation on YouTube of all places and caught a 15 day temp ban which is actually draconian considering the stupid blatant TOS violations 40%ers do every match.
I suspect WG has gotten so much money from Droodles in advertisement or actual gold purchases they don't value his input anymore or...some new random employee reviewing such footage didn't realize the income this dork brings in to the company.
Yes, multiple account bans are probably a manual operation, the same as account sharing bans. Whether it's done by a moderator or staff I don't expect them to happen unless the offender is worth some personal attention. However, do enough damage and it can happen.
And it's not like a drug dealer killing off their customers. (They do that often enough anyway). Trolls and TOS violators are either hurting WG directly or hurting other players. No matter how much they might spend, the cost of their damage is higher. The smart move is always to get rid of anyone who is driving other customers away.
And that brings us back to why the official forums were closed. The primary reason was cost but the spam, etc. was a close second in the official Asia forum. You've been around long enough to have seen actual staff involvement with forums dwindle and disappear. Facebook, You-Tube, Twitter, Discord and other social media simply reached more pople at a smaller cost.
Staff moved from the official forums to Discord. When spam overan the official Asia forum it was almost closed. (An NA moderator saved it for a while). When bugs developed in Open Test registration on the forums I guess it was easier to just move that to Discord and close the forums for good.
This forum has survived when others have died. Game companies like WG can just turn moderation over to Steam staff. WG gets the benefits of a forum without paying extra for it.
That doesn't mean that this forum couldn't be closed down too. If it's overun by spam and negativity it might not be worth WG keeping it. Why would WG support something that drives customers away? I like this forum and the lighter and more welcoming atmosphere. I hope it survives for many more years.

As for Droodles, he's wanted to be a Community Contributor for years but Wargaming didn't trust him enough to do that. His You-Tube channel is a business, and he's had to pay hundreds of dollars to get the new crate tanks for his reviews. CC's get them for free on their press accounts. I suspect that they've cut a deal where if he behaves he gets some of the CC benefits. But not all of them, not yet anyway.
Normal stuff. Two businesses have a problem, they negotiate and come up with a deal where they both make money. Business as usual.
I suppose the same way many here suspect you have a deal too. I'd go further to say you have a deal before I'd say Droodles has some deal.
Its a bad "sportsman move".
Never liked that kind of play from a Teamate.
But, to then, see him "double down" in a later video, seem to brag about being banned, vow to use "alternate accounts" to "evade the ban", to me, is just a heinous of an act.
Why can't Droodles just make enjoyable videos with good lessons to teach other players?
He can still showcase his skills, get the views, and possibly even get the Accolades from WarGaming?
*shrugs*
I don't know.
Maybe he likes the role of villain?
Maybe he only sees outward and not inward and that makes him the way he is?
I'm actually 1-1 vs Droodles all time from my memory over the years and been a teammate of his known accounts for maybe 3-4 matches.
So I don't encounter him often, and there is no grudge.
We all like to see fairness in game rule distribution.
I wonder how many times Jingles or Meadsy69 have been banned for infractions?
I doubt very many because if you listen to their voice and attitude they are of a different upbringing and they seem to have learned sportsmanship early on in life....
...as well as respect for one's own teammates.
Droodles was invited to the CC/Dev summit stream even though he wasn't a Community Contributor. He asked why and they told him why. Eventually he was banned for an EULA violation. Most of his questionable activities that I saw was his attempts to somehow get new and unreleased info without a press account. Now he has a press account and access to unreleased tanks. That is a very visibl;e change in WG's attitude to him. Now both he and Wargaming can get what they want.
That's pretty solid circumstantial evidence of a deal.
The accusations about me, on the other hand, lack any evidence at all. I disagred with the accusers on some points, and, in their minds, If I didn't agree with them I must be in the pay of Wargaming.
Frankly, I would find it silly except for one thing. Impersonating an administraor or other staff person is a violation of both the Steam and Wargaming EULA's. Each time they do it I end up having to post a disclaimer, just to be on the safe side. Having to do that because some people like childish insults is irritating.
You mention "respect. To me this is about lack of consideration.
You can state "Droodles was being inconsiderate when he pushed a teammate because he wanted that position".
I can state, "It was inconsiderate for a teammate in a light/med/heavy to try to play the role of a TD by sitting in a spot best suited for a TD. Every tank type has it's role and purpose and when a player either does not understand their role type, know how to play their role type, or chose the wrong tank, or whatever reason."
Neither of us are wrong, but I suspect you have not considered my view on this. For my lifetime, I have never understood the short shortsightedness of people to consider other points of view.
I see so many players who are enitrely inconsiderate playing lights and meds. I rarely play TDs, but 75% of the time I play a TD the stupid lights and meds aren't doing one of their pirmary roles, which is spotting. I saw two meds run up a hill like TDs and sit their the other day. They weren't even in a platoon!? The one just followed the other. We lost of course, because they weren't spotting...they were playing the role of TDs.
And yes, any tank can play any role. But it's really about what they are best suited for, where the difference comes in. A BC25t can do the same thing as a Maus...for a few seconds. Is it inconsiderate for a BC25t to try to play like a Maus? Yes. Because they will be dead in seconds and unable to do the key things to help the team win, a) spot, b) use their speed to distract and clear low HP enemies
So being inconsiderate works a lot of ways.
Sometimes I get labeled a "Tank" when I'm a TD (like the T30).
Granted, the Wikipedia page says its a "Heavy", the game says its a Tank Destroyer.
I mentioned those 2 mediums, I use the (forget what you call the setting) that player name, tank name, and tank type. And I know how to tell by inspecting a player after a battle.
To your point, that may not always be the case. I know for certain, Droodles was correct that he was in a TD and the other player was indeed in IIRC a heavy.
