Converting combat xp to free xp when the tank not fully researched

My Tiger II is fully researched, but technically is not, because the next tank in the line (E 75) is not researched. Probably that's why Tiger II is not on the list of tanks when I try to convert combat xp to free xp. But I don't want to research the E 75, I want to use the combat xp on Tiger II elsewhere. Is there any way to do this?

No. Combat XP can only be used on the tank that earns it or to research the next tank(s) on the tech tree. Only Free XP can be used on any tank.

Combat XP is converted to Elite XP when you research the next tank(s) on the tech tree. That is what can be used to convert to Free XP or to accelerate crew skills. You do not need to purchase the next tank(s), only research them.

Thank you, it's clear now, the definition of Elite XP helps a lot. What I wanted would make sense because my Tiger II is "Elite" - fully researched. I like to have Tiger II, but I also want the Mouse. But I understand the logic, as long as you CAN use XPs for research, the game is expecting us to do just that.
