For most of us getting better and playing our best makes more sense, in my opinion. I enjoy the challenge and competition, but if I end up thinking that I have to have the absoulte best or be the absolute best, I’m not really playing the game.
The game is playing me.
I CAN'T do any better. I would love to. I can't. I simply don't have the skill. 55% is the best I can do. No more. I simply cannot be a 60% or 70% player. I've tried. I've failed.
The best prizes are restricted to the best players. Why should I play a game in which I'm incapable of being the best? There's no reward for failing and being a loser.
This isn't envy. I don't care if there's some special reward for the top 1%. The game goes out of it's way to inform me that it's possible to get rewards for rating battles. Then tells me I'm not good enough. Because I don't have a high enough rating. That's just teasing me for not being good enough.
So, I try to up my rating. Then I get put against platinums as a silver player. Wow. That's fair. Then my rating drops when I inevitably lose. Next battle? Same thing. Never ends.
In an online-only multiplayer game, I consider any benefit based on performance to be unfair. I don't care if it's merely cosmetic.
This would all be fine if the game didn't shove it in my face. "Hey, you know those rating battles that have been rigged against you, and you've been losing? The one's forever trapping you in silver despite nearly every opponent being in gold or platinum?"
"Yeah, we aren't going to let you earn points in that mode. Because, you aren't a top player. So, you don't deserve it."
"You play 30 hours per week. Sorry, that's not good enough. Peasant. Get good noob."
i sure feel good investing my time and money into this game. As well as defending it on the forums. Clearly a good use of my time in both regards.
And add this one - the mid 50’s is exactly where I hope to end up. That may not be great, but it’s pretty darn good. In fact, when WG publishes data and talks about balancing, it’s the 55% - 65% players they talk about.
As for the lack of challeges, that’s personal for everybody. Look around and see if there still some that would be fun, then do what you need to do.
The game demands a certain level of performance. I simply cannot meet this expectation.
I know I'm doing good. I know I'm better than a lot of players. It just doesn't matter. Still not good enough.
I checked out that Blitzstars site that you (or someone else) posted in another thread. My stats are really good.
For May 12th, I had a WN8 of 1612. With a winrate of 57.6%. Over 125 battles. That's nuts. (Especially considering 25% of those battles were in a tank I hate, and am very bad at playing.) I've been staring at the screen for 10 minutes. I can't even believe it. It's a blatant fact, and I'm having trouble processing it.
My best tank is the Ke-Ho. I'm just a little short of being one of the top 100 players on that site, in that tank, in the last 30 days, in terms of WN8. Not just in my region, but world-wide.
I know I have nothing to be ashamed of. And yet? Somehow... Still not good enough. Not good enough to up my rating. Not good enough to carry battles. Not good enough to earn coins from rating battles.
And that? Is crushing. To know that I have the skill, but to be held back by a system. A system that has judged me to be bad. Despite being statistically in the top 10-20% of all players.
I was really happy with how well I've been playing lately. It's been great. Consistently playing at peak ability (and winning) is an amazing feeling. Especially when you're playing every day. Even the bad battles feel good. (Because you know you'll most likely win the next one.)
I had more to say, but I feel like I'm only going to be repeating myself.
I got to do exactly ONE of these. Resulting in 667 coins. Which is not enough to buy anything.
My clan doesn't have enough active members for us to form tourney teams. So, I have to be picked up by teams that are short on people.
Bad teams want me because my stats are better. Good teams don't want me because my stats are lower.
So, I end up on teams that are 48-53% against teams that are 52-65%. So we lose, and I barely get anything.
But, yeah. Tournaments are a way for me to earn coins. The only way for me to earn coins.
1 know how strong is enem /your team +-
2 spot enem (main force) from bush + reset camo
3 confront enem shot on side or ambush
4 decision what is right to do ? flank if i am far / or help and use my hp for ally ?
5 good players never run ( only go to near cover and fight again)
6 no all battle you win because is team play if someone sht on team is judge in start of battle
7 last big rules --- no ally no win !!
