WG has said that there are over 1,500,000 playing this game every day. That’s more than enough people to have some that try anyway. Other players seem happy to report them and cheer WG on when they go after them.
By the way, you’ll see people called hackers in battlechat. Almost always it’s by players who have had their tank destroed by someone who knows more about the game than they do.
I would have prof but I didn't save the recording like I should have.
Most of these can be explained by examing the replay or, better yet, uploading the replay to https://wotinspector.com/en/ where you can examine the trajectory of every shot. Usually the explanation is a bad case of ping or even very short lag. What the server sees is not always what we see.
In rare cases you could even drive your tank through walls and end up stuck inside of a building. If there’s even a one pixel gap left by the developers betweeh one panel and another this could and has happened. You can also shoot through open windows. Other than that, no, I doubt it. The server thinks rocks and walls are solid and the server is in charge of the game.
u could mod/cheat before - such as instant alerts to know you had been spotted and when camo was reset - directional arrows and distance markers for all enemies..... that sort of thing
Nearly instant alert (sixth sense lightbulb) is already in the game, it has like a 2 sec delay, and it hardly could be cheated as instant as the information that you got spotted, already including the delay, is send by the server.
The "Camo up again" was only on a cooldown that started 1sec after the lightbulb, so it only told you when you would be unspotted again IF you got out of enemies sight in that 1sec. Something any experienced player can tell easily by himself, after a few thousand matches you developed an internal clock for that. That "cheat" could also be bad as it might delude you into leaving your cover early, when you got spotted during the cooldown again without noticing it.
Directional arrows and distance markers was only for the tanks that where spotted at the time anyway, it clogs up your screen, and is information any experienced player who has developed some awareness rather gets from a quick look at the minimap.
So pretty much any "cheats" you get here in WoTB is information that you got anyway, since you/your client does only know what the server tells you, and while some of them "might" seem like a useful help for some inexperienced newbie, the experienced players would hardly bother with that stuff.
Fun how some people bring this up everytime we get this kind of thread, but not ONE of them recorded a replay, or he deleted it, or his dog ate it, whatever.
What I know from my own experience, I get shot behind cover because some really small part of me stuck out (we call this pixel-shooting), lag might be involved (usually I got ping of <20, never noticed lag being an issue, but for others might), there is some small hole, like a couple of bricks missing, and the enemy got lucky to hit that hole, or he was using HE and either shot the ground next to the cover, or in some cases even the cover itself, and got me with the splash damage.
Btw. for any game out there that has cheats, you can simply find proof on youtube, but somehow, you won't find this proof for WoTB, how is that?
BTW i wasn't calling them cheats, just trying to offer what some may think was cheating.
In regards to your second comment, wasnt there a "glitch" before where u could HE the other side of cover and still cause damage. Like shooting from under a bridge
So a clanmate and I put this to the test in a training room and found that the Matilda BP can indeed pen the ARL44 quite easily so glad to know he was just that good a player. On an unrelated note, we discovered that you cannot shoot at each other under water (we submersed ourselves in the harbor at the stern of the Yamato...cool rubber ducky WG)
There was but WG removed that abilty. You can still see their shadow on ramps above you in Faust but I don’t think you can splash damage them.
The Yellow Submarine is under the water in Mirage too.
Water blocks shots in both directions, I believe, so you can use it to go hulldown or even peek-a-boo. You are slow in water and could drown, so it’s risky.
Well, actually, you DID call them mods/cheats in your post, but ok, I was only offering some additional info on those incidents, just to clear it up a bit more ;)
LOL
