What is use of HE?

I mean I'm driving Tiger 1 and there's no tank in battle which can be penetrated using HE

So what is use of carrying them?

its for soft targets lets say u got tiger 2 and theres an rhm WT camping well you spot him and fire away with HE this is a real big thing for the e-100 the HE should be used on soft targets just dont except it to always pen on some vehicles and if you cant pen a stupid is-4 or is-7 which is hulldown or sidescraping slap some HE on him so he gets a bit panicked

Think someone already said this, but HE can also be used to finish off extremely low health targets. Say under 20 health for your Tiger. This is because HE will almost never bounce, but will cause some splash damage when it hits. Look out for orange highlighting in sniper mode.

One time, I couldn't see the red tank's body in Dead Rail, he was using trains to block my shots, he was low HP, and there is no way shoot at him without exposing myself.
However, I saw an opportunity to shoot under his belly, if I used normal shells AP./ APCR, it will not hit him, so, I used HE, shoot the ground just under his belly, BOOM, the fragments will find its way to his vulnerable parts, we won.

Under the belly is weak parts also :)

HE are also great for disabling tracks. When wild T95 pop up, just hit his tracks with HE and go for the juicy sides while enemy can't move :)

Here’s a video on two clever uses of HE - hitting the ground and splashing up into the bottom of the tank, and hitting a red turret to splash down onto a weak top deck. There even used to be a medal, The Bombadier, for killing two tanks with one shot using tactics like these.

Just hit the weakly-armoured bois, you'll get results eventually.

Yep HE shells aren't for normal fighting. They are there for those specific times that they will be beneficial, such as being behind a tank and it has weaker armor. Or they are good for when you absolutely can't seem to damage something and you can't flank or get behind them. You'll at least do something when your shooting. something is better than nothing, and you never know you might get super lucky and hit a weak spot. I've had lots of fights where i just shot HE from the front to a heavy armored tank and got lucky enough to hit a weak spot and penetrated and did full damage. There aren't much and you usually can't hit those spots easy even if your right near them, but again, something is better than nothing.

If you ever get to the ass end of any tank switch over to HE real quick and look fast for any of the glorious green plates (even if it's still orange it's still usually worth it because of all the crits you will get) and you know what that means. Then you will see why HE is awesome. Big numbers when used correctly lol

in my t95 i ask myself what's the use of AP?.
bigger the gun the better HE is and the easier it is too use.

everyone says use he on low health targets until you do roll 17 out of 20 and die personally unless i find an rhm a wt or i manage to get the rear of a weak booty tank i never use he

Haha, good one. I often ask myself the same in my E 100. ☺ HE is VERY useful with all guns from 105 mm upwards. On a Tiger I, it probably doesn't make a big impression. In an E 1^00 at the back of an American heavy? 1k damage, easily.
