Also not a great idea to use boosters on lower tier tanks, if your grinding free experience, etc you want the biggest tank getting you the biggest experience per battle, to maximize your gains.
I also don't use boosters on a STOCK tank that im grinding. You don't do as good in most tanks stock until you upgrade them a bit, so of course the more its upgraded, the more experience and the better in fights you are. Get a few needed upgrades first before using boosters on it (except combat of course, that should be fine on stock to speed it up). THEN use the boosters. I usually burn through all my boosters fast on new tanks im grinding, they don't really last long.
combat boosters = good on leveling up new tanks. crew boosters best on tanks already upgraded pretty well. free experience boosters, best on top tier tanks upgraded pretty good for maximum gain. But some people just use them up because they usually forget about them, not a big deal, again, they don't really last long.
what are STOCK tanks?
1) premium tanks
and
2) tanks you already upgrade fully especially those tier 1 to tier 4 tanks.
but i think it is ok to use free exp boosters on those very good premium tanks like some in tier 6 or tier 7 premium tanks.
Stock tanks are new tanks that you are grinding and playing that don't have many upgrades because you just started them. You don't have the best guns, engines, etc.
Boosters last 1 battle. If you have 50 boosters of 1 type, they will last for 50 battles, wether you win or not. So that is why i suggest you don't use boosters for stock tanks, because you want to make the most out of your boosters benefit. A stock tank is usually vastly weaker than a tank you have upgraded some.
So if you put on boosters, the game will keep them on until they are used up. Most forget this and don't realize that boosters stay on when activated, even if you switch tanks. So that is why i suggest experimenting with them slowly so you don't waste the ones you have. Don't worry you'll forget and burn through a bunch, we all do, it isn't a big deal.
Boosters and when to use them...
1) Combat experience boosters. These give more experience in a battle. You want to save these up and use them at higher tiers, because at higher tiers you need more battles and experience to grind the tanks fully, and you usually get more experience in higher fights. Lower tier tanks you can grind through very fast, I wouldn't use ANY combat boosters until you hit tier 5 tanks at least. They aren't really useful on low tier tanks, you grind those fast anyway.
2) Crew boosters. Good any time, you always are gaining crew skills, but again, the higher tier the better because you gain more experience with higher tier tanks and tanks you are good with. Again i wouldn't even start using boosters until you reach tier 5+, use crew boosters on your fully researched tanks, your best tanks, your tanks you do the most damage with. Not needed for stock or low tier tanks.
3) free experience. Same as 1 and 2. Higher tier = more damage and experience = more booster benefit. Ignore on low tier tanks and tanks you aren't good with.
You get the idea. Here is how i use boosters, others may do different. The first battle of the day in a tank gives you a benefit, x2, x3, etc. This is the best time to use boosters on your higher level tanks because you get the booster benefit, PLUS the benefit of the first battle of the day. Put on your crew exp boosters, your free experience boosters, etc on your highest tier tanks that you do the most damage. Fight ONLY until you win your first game with that tank, then switch to a different tank that has the daily x2, etc boost. So if you have some tier 6 tanks and down, at the start of the day put on the boosters, use any premium account certificate you have (1 hour is fine) and play each of your higher tier tanks until they win their first battle, then move to a different tank. Once you have the ones you play good done, take off all the boosters and save them until the next day, and repeat.
Having premium account time activated, plus the first battle of the day, PLUS your boosters on until you win your first battle and get your x2 (or x3) bonus, is the best use of boosters. Then take them all off and repeat the next day.
You won't get tons of boosters, you'll often forget to take them off and "waste some" on useless fights, etc don't worry they aren't super important, and you won't get zillions of them. They are just a small benefit in the game and if you use them right, a pretty nice first win of the day benefit.
