like ELITE was saying, its a balancing issue, WoT on PC has 15v15, so 3 man platoons are more do able (while its 5 man on console last time i checked, they do their own thing)
if you exclusively play with 2 other people, WoT PC gives XP bonuses just for being in a platoon
You play, you die, you exit fast and start another platoon battle. Of course, if your team mate isn't dead, you might wait a while, maybe a long while, while you could be playing 2 more games in that time.
You get the idea. Platooning is nice, but really not implimented into the game the way many of us would like it to be.
