Obstacle ram damage?
Is it possible for a tank to take damage by hitting an obstacle?

I've done it in the LTTB, but I don't know any other ways. I jumped off the hill in Copperfield and took fall damage, then rammed into the giant base shed thing at high speed and took damage.

Maybe I was rocking from the fall and it counted as fall damage.

It probably was "fall damage" but it shouldn't have happened.

No, unless you're falling at the same time
Its a special type of damage called collision damage, its the same damage you do/take when ramming something like a tank,I have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ collision damage from obstacles on my LTTB,it seems that obstacle damage has been significally nerfed by WG(which is good),but didnt tamper with tank ramming damage

The is no such thing as collision damage in WoT(B) other than when ramming another tank or fall damage.
there are all the types of damage i have come across myself personally

1) being shot by other tanks

2) jumping off a hill at very high speed and taking damage as a result (this is 100% true)

3) ramming into another tank

4) landing on top of the enemy tank completely.

for the 4th one, this happens to me quite a number of times and it is 100% true to happen, both of us will take damage instantly and the tank below you can't move at all. ONLY the tank at top can move away.

for the 2nd one, it will occurs only for those who have high top speed like LTTB and the traverse speed is very high as well. it doesn't occur to tanks that has top speed of 20 km/h at all.

Yeah well, the damage from being shot is obvious, but I indeed forgot about the damage possible due to having one tank landing on top of another, actually iirc it never happened to me in WoTB so far, but I experienced it quite alot in normal WoT, I even made a point of trying to jump on enemies that hid in some hole or where below a cliff.
I think there are far less opportunities to do this in WoTB, but possible nontheless.

While it can happen easily in fast tanks as they just might leave the ground when going fast over some little hill or sanddune (and often resulting in brocken/damaged tracks if not hull damage), it can ofc happen to slow tanks as well, only they would have to go over a really steep cliff or fall off some bridge.
And the only effect whatsoever that traverse speed could have is that tanks with higher traverse might be more prone to changing direction the moment they "take off" so much that landing will kill your tracks, as you are better off landing in a forward direction, as just being slightly off to one side will result in more track damage.

i rarely come acroos getting damage for my AT 2 tank, AT 7 tank and AT 8 tank when driving off the hill since they are very slow and their traverse speed is very low as well.

^_^
When you land on top of another tank, both tanks will take increasing amounts of damage until one is destroyed or they get off each other.
You can HE yourself to death

100% correct if you use HE ammo in very close range.

done it before when using su-100y and never try it anymore.

realistically you can be knocked out when you hit a wall or sumthing hard with a tank even a heavy tank because physics. But nvm its a arcade game
you rarely can take damage by running into non-tanks if falling damage isn't factored into the equasion, but while rare, it can still happen. You can also rarely take track damage due to the game mechanics by another friendly tank ramming you if they ram you from the side. Tested it plenty of times in training rooms. It is usually falling damage that is applied after the collision that for some reason is still factored into the equasion. I've taken track damage by having a heavy teammate ram my light tank from the side, i guess you are pushed/lifted and falling damage to the track is calculated sometimes. Might be the same for ramming into obstacles.

It is very rare, in battles i've only had 1 instance i can remember taking track damage from a friendly tank hitting me, though i've done it a lot of times in training rooms. I don't ever remember taking damage by just driving into something, but it might have happened and i don't remember.
