World of Tanks Blitz Abbreviations, Nicknames, and Meanings
Below is a list of abbreviations, nicknames and meanings of things used in World of Tanks Blitz. If you have any you'd like to add to the list, please reply to the thread. More information can also be found on the WG Wiki here: http://wiki.wargaming.net/

1337: Leet (elite). Another term for pro.
555+: Ha ha ha. 5 = ha in Thai. It's a common way of showing laughter in Thai.
o/: Salute.
o7: Salute.
AFK: Away from keyboard.
AP: Armor Piercing. Standard shell type available for almost all guns in-game.
APCR: Armor Piercing Composite Rigid. Premium shell type available for most guns in game.
ATM: At the moment.
Alpha: Alpha damage refers to the amount of damage a player can expect to output in one shot (or in the case of auto loaded guns, in the span of a magazine or partial magazine dump) - essentially, how much damage a player can output for minimal exposure to enemy fire.
BH: Ban hammer.
BRB: Be right back.
BatChat: The Bat.-Châtillon 25 t.
Bathtub/tub: Nickname for the S35 CA tank destroyer.
CW: Clan wars.
Camo: Camouflage, the value in World of Tanks that determines how easily spotted your vehicle is.
Campinovka: Malinovka.
Cap: Used for abbreviating "Capture". To capture an enemy's base. To defend, not allow capture. Initiate the capture of the enemy base.
Cap circle: The large circle around the flag, once inside the circle the base is starting to be capped/captured.
Circle of death: Circling an enemy tank because your mobility exceeds their turrets traverse rate. Commonly done by lights, but can also be done by mediums.
Crit: short for critical hit.
DPM/DPS: Damage per minute and damage per shot. Damage per Minute refers to the sustained output of a given tank over time and can be seen as the opposite metric of alpha; DPM measures the damage output that a player gains from maximum exposure rather than the minimum. Traditional DPM is calculated as the damage per shot times the rate of fire.
Def/Base: Short for defend the base, usually means the enemy is capping and someone needs to rush back and defend.
Defender: IS-3 Defender. Soviet tier 8 premium heavy autoloader tank.
Derp/Derp gun: A high caliber gun that is very inaccurate and is best for shooting HE shells (for example the KV 2's 152mm).
Duck: AMX 40 because of its unique look.
Doom Turtle: T95. Tier 9 USA TD.
E2: M4A3E2 Sherman Jumbo, USA Tier 6 MT.
Easy 8: M4A3E8 Sherman, T6 Medium for the US line.
FTW: For the win.
FYI: For your information.
Facehug: Where a tank gets so close to an enemy tank they are hull to hull. This position favours those with strong turrets.
Ferdi: Ferdinand. T8 TD for the Germans. Also known as Elefant.
FF: Friendly fire.
Flak Bus: Pz.Sfl. IVc. Tier 5 German TD.
Flank: Move to shoot the side/rear of an enemy tank.
Focus fire: Focusing your fire on a single enemy tank to remove them from battle ASAP.
GG: Good game. Something players say at the end of battle.
GH: Good hunting. Something else that can be said at the beginning of battle(but is not often said).
GJ: Good job.
GLD: Gun laying drive. A piece of equipment that can be mounted on majority of the tanks to reduce aim time.
GLHF: Good luck, have fun. Something majority of players say before a match starts to the opposing team (and theirs).
GF: Good fight.
GK: Good kill.
Glass cannon: Something with a lot of firepower but little to no protection.
Gold/firing gold: Firing premium (APCR or HEAT) rounds in a pub battle.
Grinding: Playing the same tank time and time again in an effort to reach the next tank in the tree.
HE: High-explosive. A standard shell type available to every gun in the game.
HEAT: High-explosive anti-tank.
HESH: High-explosive squash head.
Hotchkiss: German tier 2 premium (Hotchkiss H35).
Hull down: Hiding your hull behind an obstacle or hill and only showing your turret.
IG: In-game.
IMO: In my opinion.
IGN: In-game name.
JP: Jagdpanther, German T7 TD. A II after JP (JP II) refers to the Jagdpanther II, the T8 TD of the Germans.
JT: Jagdtiger. The German T9 TD. Also known as the Hunting Tiger.
Jeep: Nickname for the T82 tank destroyer.
Kek: Another way of saying LOL.
KT: King Tiger. Tier 8 German heavy tank.
Km/h: Kilometres per hour.
KS: Killsteal.
LOL: Laugh out loud.
LoLTraktor: Leichttraktor. the tier 1 German light tank.
Lemming rush: The movement of most of the team down a single flank, leaving all others exposed.
Leo: Leopard, T5 light tank for the Germans.
Light them: A light tank to spot tanks by doing an active scouting movement.
MBT: Main battle tank.
MM: Matchmaker. The thing you see when you hit battle.
Mini Maus: German tier 2 premium (Hotchkiss H35).
NP: No problem.
NVM: Never mind.
NS: Nice shot.
Newb: Someone who is merely good at the game, and therefore has a limited understanding of it, but is acceptable given how long they have been playing it. Not typically used as an insult.
Noob: Someone who is deemed to be bad at the game. An insult.
OP: Over powered.
OTW: On the way. Commonly used to alert a teammate support is enroute.
P1 or P2: Panther 1 and 2. German T7 and 8 medium tanks.
Peek-a-boom: Peek-a-boom is the informal name given to the practice of using cover to reload, then popping out to fire. Peek-a-boom generally refers to guns that have long reload times with high damage per shot, as seen on the IS tanks.
Pen: Penetrate/penetration. Penetrate a tank's armour.
Penned: Penetrated a tank's armour.
Plat: Platoon.
Pub games: Public games.
Push: to move up one or more areas of the map.
QQ: Crying.
R2D2: Cupola on the front of the KV-5. Common weak spot.
ROFL: Rolling on floor laughing.
ROF: Rate of fire.
Racked: The explosion of a tank's ammo rack after being shot. The resulting explosion removes what health the tank has.
Ram: Known for when a tank "rams" into another tank.
Rammer: Gun rammer. A piece of equipment that can be mounted on majority of tanks to reduce reload time.
Reset: Reset the counter of the friendly base by doing damage to an enemy capper.
Sidescrape: In this position you expose the side of your tank rather than the front at an angle that presents a very high chance of a ricochet. You also do not move in and out of cover.
Splash: When any tank damages the victim without hitting the tank but misses hitting the ground beside the victim.
Suicide scout: When a light tank rushes to the enemy base as fast as possible at the very beginning of the game in order to spot as many enemy tanks as possible before dying.
TD: Tank destroyer. A vehicle class in world of tanks.
TK: Team kill. Someone who kills someone on their team.
Toaster: Pz.Sfl. IVc. Tier 5 German TD.
Toon: Short for platoon.
TQ: Thank you.
Tracked: When a tank's track is destroyed and can't move.
Unicum: Used to describe a very skilful player.
VGG: Very good game
Vader turret: The turret of the Pz.Kpfw. IV Schmalturm.
Vents: Improved ventilation. A piece of equipment that can be mounted on majority of the tanks to increase the crew's performance.
Vert stab: Vertical stabilizer. A piece of equipment that can be mounted on majority of the tanks to decreases the amount of aim dispersion caused by tank/turret motion.
WAR: Wet ammo rack. A piece of equipment that can be mounted on majority of the tanks to increase ammo rack durability.
WoT: World of Tanks.
WoTB: World of Tanks Blitz.
Wallet warrior: Someone who is using a premium tank with little experience in-game. Can also mean someone who has spent a lot of money in-game.
