World of Tanks Blitz

World of Tanks Blitz

Game is not fun anymore.
At the beginning let me say, that I'm not a hater nor troll who just wants to flame. I used to love WoT in the past, and still have some warm feelings towards this title.

I don't know how much has changed, I used to play Blitz on my tablet couple of years ago, I'm not a pro or even good player, just an average joe. But this game is not fun anymore, or not as much as it could be. Especially compared to THIS OTHER TANK GAME. Again, I know Blitz is a mobile title. I get that it can't be that deep. I don't mind the Hit Points, I'm fine with simplicity. But if you suck at this game like I do (mostly), it quickly gets almost unplayable for casuals.

Reason number one: I'm constantly on the red. I like when a game rewards me even for an attemps. I suck? Ok, but at least give me some reward, so after 30 loses I at least have some money to spend. Nope: even If I win some cash, I quickly lose it afterwards. You have to be really skilled (2 - 3 kills) to earn something. So eventually my only cash source is daily packs, and I have a feeling that in the future there will be much trouble to save for some new tanks. My point: this mechanics makes you NOT WANT to play. Something is wrong here.

Reason number two: One tank limit. If you suck, you die. Fast. So it is fun to have some more chances to hit them enemies. Nope. A day from noobs life: you choose a tank. Loading screen. Countdown. You ride a couple of meters. You die. Loading screen. You choose a tank. Loading screen... Do you get my point? If you're paired with some skilled players (and that comes quickly), you stuck in this noob limbo of loading screens and gathering 50 xp points, only to reach higher tier and more skilled opponents. And where is the fun? What I really like in this OTHER TANK GAME, is that I can take a quick break and play a game or two, and still have fun, while STILL getting closer to better equipment, more cash, etc. Losing is not frustrating, cause I still have more tanks and I'm actually gaining something. And that is, in my opinion, a great way to design a multiplayer game. Everyone have fun.

Sorry for the rant. If you want to call me a noob, please do. Cause that's why I'm writting it. Again, I'm not here to hate, but to raise a question: Is it possible to make WoT:B more approachable for casuals?

Was difficult to understand all you wrote, but if I understand it correctly;

It can be a money pit. Every month you get a bunch of "special offers" higher tier tanks that cost as much as a triple a title game.

I play without premium mostly. I get free premium sometimes (through certificates) and use that to grind a new tank and use free experience to get a good gun etc. on it. I don't mind the grind as there are tanks at all tiers I like.

Yes other team mates will make you want to cry or do violence to them, but as you say you got to suck it up when you have a bad day/week. It's swings and roundabouts, one day your tank can seem OP and the next you can't do anything with it. You look at the stats of the players and still can't see why things went bad. Mostly players seem to be around 43-48 WR but they can still hand you your butt as if they are pro.

To continue the topic of premium vs. free, I always approach games like that with golden rule "I'm not paying for anything". It is easy to start the spiral, but there is really no end to it.

I also go premium ocasionally using premium tokens, but eventually I end up playing free. I really don't understand players who invest hundreds to reach higher tiers just for the sake of it. If something is possible to obtain after many, many hours of play then this process is a part of the fun, not to mention you also learning a lot, climbing up the ladder. I know it is totally unreleated, but it reminds me of hacking pokemon up to 99 levels. What is the point? You skipping the whole fun.

It is different with premium vehicles, but I agree that there are enough of standard ones that are cool, and also you have a chance to recieve premiums as a reward, so it is ok.

The only thing that breaks an immertion for me is that sometimes on the ladder there is a model that was only a prototype or really less significant one, but still as a part of the ladder you see them in every battle, almost like they were mass produced, like A-20.

But I'm nitpicking of course: This is not a Steel Panthers game (btw, I'm sure you all know it, but just in case, I recommend it, even more since it is free!), there is hardly any realism in WoT and I'm fine with that. It is essentially a tank deathmatch, so even the basis of a game is... well... far from reality. Lately, I've encountered Kuro Mori Mine Tiger and was confused as hell, and then I realised it was a Girls und Panzer event vehicle. Simple as that, but for a tiny while I was thinking about any Tigers in Japanese service ^_^.
WOW guys this is the best..ya BEST set of comments that I have read in all the discussion subjects so far,,very specific direct and very unseemingly honest without a personal gain issue,,nice and refreshing...I personally do NOT like fixed gun TDs,,I like a tank with a turrent,,but all thse comments about your tank selections are very accurate and real,,,and will help your game play be better and more effective,,,NOT my post GUYs but very well said ..refreshing
I'm glad that my ragequit eventually sparked an interesting discussion. :)
It gets worse in the upper tiers where you're grinding a lot for spare parts and experience. If you lose without premium that's easy -18k credits gone.
Just give WG more money for tanks, spare parts and the near 90% chance you will end up with a full team of 40% or less W/R potato heads.
