The T1 Heavy has a strong turret and upper front hull. At 10% it gas great gun depression. Usually I look for ridgelines and other hull down locations where I can hide the weaker lower front hull. With decent speed for a heavy and good front armor it also is a good rammer.
The T1 Heavy has the second best 90 day winrate of any Tier 5 tank - better than any premium.
Lttlefinger has a good review on it:

Dont Snipe with it, it is great at distance, but you really want to be up close and personal with it. I love being in the thick of the fight and the T1 might be the best for this, in any tier, especially with its reload time, why be far?!?
Protect your nose and flanks. Your armor is pretty dang high, and you will bounce a TON, but, realize, you CAN get shot up if you dont protect yourself, even from a Lepo. Stay near walls or the edge of the map so you dont get looped. If you do, remember to spin as you turn your turret... too many times I see heavies trying to aim and not turn their hull at the same time, and I want to punch the screen... Spinning your hull and aiming at the same time doubles your effective turret turn rate.
NEVER play scared! (but play smart too) You are one of the best tanks, in any match you play, PUSH HARD! T1 can dominate as a solo player, but, like any OTHER tank, they benifit so much more with teammates, so, try to stay with your team, but, up front where you can be doing most of the damage and you ability to be bouncing shells all day, you will last longer than meds or lights.
My top favorite "Grind" tanks are T1, ARL 44, and Black Prince, mostly due to Armor and ROF, but, the T1 is the only tank I ever drive where I feel like being low tier isnt a disadvantage. Obviously, you can get a near perfect game if you are high tier in it, but, T1 in 6s and I can still come out near the top. ARL and BP? yeah, I am not bad, but, I still feel weak in the higher Tiers.
