Its gun it too weak for its tier. Literally the worst performing tank in the game at its level. Before you say "get good" I've come here to enjoy my time, and spend my money on time I am enjoying, not treat a video game like a job. When I need prammo to pen a lot of medium tanks at the tier on their frontal hulls, it's time to look at where a tank needs to sit. Comparatively, it performs like a tier 7 medium. Giving it a slower firing 105, while not accurate, may at least allow you to bridge the gap. Something like 201 pen average with low roll not below 195, and high roll not above 210. APCR rolling around 260 or even HEAT rolling around 250 with better angle performance. HE hitting around 50.
Lets look at the comparable average for AP at the tier for mediums and lights. Remember, actual damage per shot doesn't matter if that damage can't get through.
Britain: 225, 225 (the same cannon, basically.)
France: 170, auto-loaded light tank boasting better maneuverability in every way, ~190, auto-loaded medium boasting better maneuverability in every way, ~210, auto-loaded medium with approx. the same maneuverability, ~210 light tank posing as a medium.
Germany:203, same reload time, damage output. 212, same reload time, damage output. 180, light tank with better maneuverability in every way.
Japan:219, better maneuverability too.
Assorted EU nations: 225, 203, ~180, better maneuverability in every way, ready rack system. ~203, better gun depression.
China: 194, better maneuverability and armor, 181, better armor.
Soviet Union: 175, better maneuverability, better armor profile. 180, the only tank in the game comparable to the Pershing, and also a bit high in the tier listings when it first came out as it was limited to an 85 mm at the time, IIRC, but with a better armor profile and more engine power, if not turning speed.
There are only two nations that have this issue, yet the rest seem to be adequately equipped for the ranges they're seeing to ensure weak spot penetration with basic ammo. Even premiums, demonstrated by france, are often given better stats because you lot know this is the wrong tier range for those values. So what do I run in the pershing? Pure prammo. No HE, no AP, just APCR. It often still isn't enough.

It's 90 day winrate On BlitzStars puts it's at #28 out of 40 for tier 8 mediums. Survival is slightly better, #24. It's not great, but not horrible either.

Winrate is not a good factor to balance a tank on. Some people are just better at games than others, and can be skewed if the results of cheaters and bots are not excluded. I can assure you, they are not. We're looking at raw tank stats comparable to other nations. The raw stats, regardless of what other platforms are saying, do not fit where it is.
