CO-OP UPDATE! + REWORK UPDATE!

Hello Commanders! I'm super excited to announce the new CO-OP mode for Mechs V Kaijus 2! And a HUGE UPDATE that changes the game to the Demo and Playtest!

🎮 Local Co-op Mode 🎮

Full 2-player local co-op is in: dual-joystick support or 1 Keyboard and mouse - 1 joystick.
2 Modes, Roles a builder and a Commander (mechs, army, carrier abilities) or mirror, with no roles everyone does everything (total fun chaos)! Still some things to fix but is really fun so I wanna to show it to the wild!

New Armor System

Complete rework of the damage/armor model — flat armor reduction replacing the old system — plus a full rebalance pass across every tower, mech, and unit to match the new values.

Mech Editor Expansion *Work in Progress*

New Torso/Chest customization slot, independent from the chassis. Arms and forearms, for new designs.
New shield component for the mech builder
Parts with mods to enhance range, firerate, armor, health, shields, weight capacity and more!
Mech Selection now available in Conquest mode, with full stat previews before a run.
IMPORTANT: The mech editor is not yet available available for players, since still a price/buying system for the parts is not yet implemented and now you can free max mechs.
But you will spot new mechs loadouts with new weapons and abilities like jump jetpacks.

New Towers

Sonic Tower (High impact sonic wave that slow down most kaijus)
Hammer Tower (melee-impact tower that unburrows and stunt Kaijus)
Healing Tower (repair beam for towers or units)
Updated Energy Tower has branch attack that can target multiple kaijus.
Antibullet Tower (beam-based tower that destroy incoming projectiles)
Carrier Factory (Produces land drone carriers).

New Units

Carrier Factory produces: Carrier Kamikaze drones and Gunship Drones.
Rocket Bot, anti crowd - Anti Air.
Robo soldiers Got updated and 3 levels.

Map & Mission Editor 2.0

Big investment here: a full trigger system (events → conditions → actions) for scripting custom missions, a new Mission Editor panel with a scenario browser, dialogue/cinematic setup tools, automatic map-bounds detection, and Kaiju pathfinding improvements for custom paths. Several in-game tutorials are in the works with the new system. Will be in the next big update.
New Pathfinding will allow new game mode like classing TD monsters on roads and maps with no direct straight line attack path.

Tech Tree Rework

Reworked progression tree structure with new towers added as unlockable nodes.

Economy, Balance & Playtests

All Economy towers: Reactors, Fission Reactors, Mines, Convertors, Ammo Factories and energy storage have booster towers, each tower gives a 20-25% boost to the towers, is accumulative, so full upgrade reactors now can generate up to 200% more energy. And full upgraded Mines give 12 metal per truck trip instead of 8, while always removing 8 metal from the metal nodes, so a big reason to upgrade.
Kaiju HQ evolution/biomass tuning, wave-difficulty and spawn balance passes, reward-card system rework, difficult rebalance. Lots of balance done, but still some to come, specially after the Air Warfare Update.

UI/UX

New Custom Game and Main Menu GUIs, a gamepad-friendly virtual cursor for dropdown menus finally fixed, and general tech-tree UI polish.

Steam Workshop

Initial groundwork for Steam Workshop integration so players can make maps and scenarios and share them with everyone! Coming Soon!

MORE AND BETTER FACTORY UNITS

Hello Commanders!
A quick update for the next update on next Friday 17:

The new Factory, the Carrier Factory.
Carriers that produce Gunship and hi damage kamikaze drones on the battlefield.

Each Carrier is a mini mobile factory that produces gun ship that fly around and shoot down Kaijus fron a distance. Massing them is quite effective.
Or the very expensive Kamikaze drones that explode on land and air doing hi damage in area.
with this the land factories tree is complete. Each factory with 2 units to build.

With this factory this part of the tech tree is complete, for now...

But wait there is more!

New Rally Point per factory + All rally for units (The Beacon)

The new rally points will allow you to create better formations, battle groups setting up skirmisher and flanks while having a main force to defend!

OBSTACLE AVOIDANCE!Now the factory units have a basic obstacle avoidance and will try to unstuck, reducing the need to make paths for the units when they come out of the factory.

Better attack / rush command.
Now in horde and wave mode the attack / rush command will send units to the kaiju spawners and not just forward.
Vs Kaiju Hive, when the hive is killed the new target for the units with these commands will be Nematodah Rex or any other Boss.

Overall Performance:
Performance was improve for the factory units and for the Kaiju, with now allows more units in the world without slowing down.

Kaiju Ai pathfinding
Huge improves here, making a more solid connection with the Kaiju main target and how to navigate the world in extreme cases. This will allow to make more interesting Maps like the new map Mountain Path that creates an S shape for the kaiju, given the payer many strategic options.

And a sneak peak of the new configs.

NEXT UPDATE: The Support Towers Pack

Hello Commanders!
What I'm working on and what is coming in next update!

I just finished implementing and testing 3 new towers, these towers main role is to support your main towers, via healing other towers and units, slowing down Kaijus stunt them for a few seconds or unborrowed them so they cant pass your defense wall.

THE SUPPORT TOWERS (preview)

The Healing Tower:

Will be able to heal factory units or towers, can be manually switch in the tower radial menu. Energy hungry, 1 energy x 1 HP.
Sonic Tower:

Emits a sonic shockwave that slow down Kaiju's movement speed and attack rate to 50%. Each shockwave cost energy + tower idle energy cost.

Hammer Tower:

(My new favorite), Hits the ground with 2 electric static hammers that shock the ground and make all burrow Kaiju instantly unfurrows + stunts all small and medium Kaiju. Stunts Kaiju's cant move or attack for a few seconds. Its Energy hungry.

BONUS TOWER:

Anti Bullet Laser Deference Point:
Bonus Tower. Replaces the Anti bullet Gatling tower with much greater accuracy. Is like the antibullet drones from MVK1 but these one dont autodestruct when run out of energy.

UPDATE:
At the moment I'm working on the Mech System 3.0 witch brings the mech designer witch will enable the creation of mechs inside the game.

This bring many exiting new features like the possibility to add forearms, hands and shields. Change cockpits and weapons etc. Each part has their own health and armor stats that contributes to the total mech value. This will enable to add mods also to the mechs.

This update to the Mechs will be making it possible to make with one Mech Chassis a glass cannon or a true frontline tank mechs with shields. This is truly great but more system's need to be in place before making the Mech Designer playable, like a way to unlock weapons etc, and making more pixel art. So it will take some time, but on next update will be more mechs loadouts to pic with more define roles!

Shooting from mech doesn't hit anything

Shooting with my mech is very difficult. It seems buggy and usually just the bullets land in front of the mech and do nothing. Very frustrating. In general I like the evolution of the game but it is very hard to get into compared to the first one. I can't figure out how to defeat a hive, my mech shooting range is too short and doesn't even target properly and I get clobbered immediately when I get within range to shoot them as they have overwhelming firepower. I'm not sure if I'm just supposed to step bac...

The classic game mode from the original game

I played the demo, and so far it's been more stressful than enjoyable. Resource mining, limited resources, and no clear way to spend them (we need an economic submenu or something similar to the energy system). Please add a game mode like the one in the original Mechs vs Kaijus: 4–6 lanes, towers, static mech locations, and no resource mining....

will say the campain is interesting but what about a story mode still like with the origional I do want to see what's going to happen as well especially with that it looks like we might also be going against high tech aliens who are controling the Kaiju. that would actually probably make later levels interesting as you have to drasticallly change tactics at times as well....
