Varga or Sand (Choices) POSSIBLE SPOILERS

So I have a choice to help Mayor Varga or Mr Sand, Im not sure who's side I choose but I would like to take down the mafia and maybie get Varga killed, if possible without giving to many spoilers who should I side with to do that. Could I help Sand with popping Varga and stab Sand in the back?

Story would slightly differs with different kinds of investigations after you choose a side. But bascally the game would go on. Whoever you pick to help would be the one who remains as the mafia power for the rest of the game and the loser would get kicked out/killed. After that you can choose to investigate and arrest/killed/kicked whoever left standing in the city.

PS. Pick Vargas, a lot of people choose Sands, and I am stuck in Vargas route lol

It's a mafia war and only one family can be left standing; whichever side you pick takes over as the main family.

Ummm, I picked Vargas and Sands get knocked out. During the war did you actually helped vargas AND sands?

Because AFAIK the win condition for Vargas would be :
1. Keep the score balanced for 2 weeks (or at least not let Vargas ahead 3 days in a row, or Sands would suspect that you betratyed him and kill you)
2. Complete half of Vargas mission during the 2 weeks time. (Meaning you must complete at least 14 vargas mission, and while doing this you also need to balance the score so assuming you must also help sands for the same amount)
3. Stay alive for 13 days and then make sure Vargas score is now higher than Sands.

In my run my final score is 20 Sands vs 21 Vargas. Resulting in Vargas win.

So assuming that you said you picked Vargas and Sands won, you must have missed either one of the 3 objectives for Vargas to win. CMIIW

The real question then is, is there an advantage one over the other? If not why do anything for Vargas considering the win condition for Sands is so much easier. What's the "win" for helping Vargas?
