Firing All Black Cops, and hopefully rehire them
So tomorrow is the dead line, the mayor wants me to fire all my black officers because of threats from a racist group in the city. If I fire them, could I rehire the same officers back. If not should I fire them anyway or keep them.

No, but don't bother with the mayor's stupid request. You'll probably have more issues with firing a crapton of cops illegally compared to him being moody for a day.

Only fire them if you can do so legally. If you take the effort, you can send them individually to missions they are guaranteed to fail and then fire them.

Nah, most of them are illegal fires anyway, just do the silly odd jobs and the Mayor will love you for it afterwards.

What do you mean exactly by odd jobs

Further on, the Mayor will ask you for cops for "muncipal assignments", and by completing them you keep him happy. Also if you want, ensure that you put down all the protests down by force, although that offers another set of challenges....

Never let a good crisis go to waste.

It depends, if you are able to manage the crimes and odd requests effectively.

If you fail this one, it's a major hit to your rep with the mayor, and it might lead to budget cut (meaning you lose one slot: either an officer or a detective). But I've failed this one yet I managed the odd requests well enough that I haven't had a budget cut after 11 days.

Don't fire them illegally, Stovall is the best starting officers in the game, also it seems really stupid to appease racist in the first place. This one isn't that major, so don't bother with it because you should be able to keep city hall happy if you don't mess up in the future anyway.

But just to add: I've somehow seen that the high-professional seniors has a chance to retire. I've seen one playthrough on YT where Stovall retired, but in my game he's still around (and yes, he is that good. Brought a 70 professional to a 150 standard)

So I tried my best to fire them legally. One young guy I let work at the night club and he quit - one of the young women I chose poorly and she dies. (Is there a penalty for that, besides failing to capture the bad guys?)

Getting Rid of the Detectives was hard/impossible. I had them work extra shifts and one of them came in to work drunk - but the other said he was very tired and asked if he could not come in. If I said he can stay home I can't fire for that I assume. (Am I wrong?)

Anyway (and here's something interesting) after City Hall called me and told me they were disapointed nothing bad happend... so... firing all but one black person made the punishment less severe? IDK. I don't like how it's causing me to replay the game from the begining though.

My biggest problem with this is finding ways to fire the black detectives legitimately. First thing I do is send the inexperienced black girl on missions with even professional whites, they either fail the mission themselves or I give them bad advice and that makes them fail. 3 fails, legit fire. But the detectives, that's another matter, I just suck it up and fire them. The senior black 1 striper I fire due to being too old, again, perfectly legit, then the young guy with middle experience, I send him to be the bouncer, he gets hired there permanently and quits on his own. Easy peasy right? But the two black detectives, I can work them day and night, they're too young to get tired and only by luck one might, might, come in drunk because you're working them so hard.

I've done it both ways, fire them, or don't fire them, if you fire them right when you get the order from the mayor, the press blames the mayor. I never get blowback from it. If you wait until the deadline however, that's when it can get sticky for you.

I’m still in my first playthrough but I think the answer is quite simple. If you listen to the lines and think as Jack Boyd the choices are straightforward most of the time
