NEVER go for "Alternative" Fuel (Spoilers[Kinda])
So, I've just finished my first playthrough, and man was I screwed over because of one little choice I made way back when.

Since I was playing as a super-corrupt cop, I of course accepted 45,000 dollars in exchange for "changing my fuel." At the time, I thought, well, what harm could that do?

Cut to the last few days of the game, around 160, I believe. I dispatch my team(which is really good at this point, lowest ranked is around 300) to answer calls, and seconds later four of them have died.

Over the next four or five days I lose close to twenty officers(at least) to car accidents; no one is safe, from my new recruits to my 1000+ veterans. I barely scrape past in the subsequent days; I lose people so fast that I have to hire three to four new guys every day, and I'm scraping the bottom of the recruitment pool.

My detectives are slaughtered just when I most need them(for the assault), leaving me unable to collect vital information for the attack.

I am unable to respond to half of all calls, especially those requiring four or more responding officers; and as a result, I am subjected to no less than THREE investigations for inefficency. My salary is cut three times and 25% of my savings is confiscated twice, leaving me barely above the 500k goal and making very little money. City hall is constantly pissed by the two-to-three daily dead civilians, meaning that this is an endless, vicious cycle.

Finally, the worst of this seems to abate about four or so days before the assault; only one or two officers die each day and I'm able to respond to almost all calls, although city hall is still pissed.

In conclusion, NEVER choose this option. 45,000 dollars is not worth the lives of half of your best officers and detectives and a week's worth of absolute chaos and dead civilians, plus police investigations and the subsequent pay deductions.

I feel sort of like I had it coming, but also a little angry, because this seems like a truly merciless punishment for a minor infraction. What do you think?

If you want to reverse this, it's possible. Find your save file, open it in Notepad, find the line with <BadGasoline>true</BadGasoline> (it's near the bottom) and change True to False. The next time you open the game, the car accidents should stop.

C:\Users\[USERS NAME]\AppData\LocalLow\Weappy\This Is The Police
Then you'll see a file called "Save.xml" you'll need to open this in notepad and then change true in <BadGasoline>true</BadGasoline> into false.

I don't consider this action cheating, since this is how the game presents this event and that nothing can be done with it. Unfortunately, this is the only adequate way out of the situation
