Atticus Corp & Randomness

I've been playing my game more or less alongside a Youtube series. I say more or less because the Youtube series is about 20 days ahead of mine. I've noticed a couple things; first off the investigations are not linked to the days on the job. Secondly, neither is the money. My game is on day 60 and I only have about 53k while the Youtube series is on day 83 and has over 200k. Now I know it all depends on how much money you keep, etc, but it is worth mentioning that there is sense of randomness.

Anyway, my question is when does Atticus Corp come into play? I don't even have the Feds in game yet.

Everything seemed completely scripted to me judging by my experience replaying save files and discussing the game with a friend.

Atticus comes into play after Dentist Investigation, not sure what day exactly, might want to check it out online. As far as I remember you have to complete a mission for them (send guys when they ask to), in order to unlock their services.
