Inside Character Animation and Rigging

Characters don’t just cycle through scripts; every movement is designed to be responsive and react naturally to your actions. Fluid transitions and dynamic feedback ensure that the weight and physical interaction of each character are felt directly in the gameplay.

With a custom rigging system tailored to different body types, every character possesses its own unique gait and physical presence. This approach ensures that characters aren't just visually distinct, but move with a consistent and believable sense of weight and personality.

A character’s personality is found in the subtle nuances of their expressions and real-time mimics. Our facial animation system allows characters to react dynamically to their environment, interactions, and current emotional state. From subtle eye-tracking to nuanced smiles, every detail is meticulously tuned to reflect the character's intent and mood naturally to the player.

By moving away from static faces and implementing shifting expressions that adapt to the context, we’ve strengthened the sense that these characters are truly "alive." Each character possesses its own unique flair and expressive style that stays true to its personality and physical design. This approach ensures that every interaction isn't just a visual detail, but a more believable and satisfying character-driven experience.

A Development Update About the Characters in Happy Hour

In this devlog, we’re focusing on the characters you’ll meet in Happy Hour and what you’ll actually see in-game.

To ensure that every interaction with each character feels unique and as natural as possible while playing, we are working on the following improvements

🎭 Facial Expressions & Performance

Every character features detailed facial expressions.
Realistic talking animations and natural facial reactions.
In intimate scenes, facial expressions subtly reflect the character’s emotional engagement.

🌀 Runtime Physics & Body Interaction

Hair and select body parts use real-time physics during gameplay.
Subtle jiggle physics are used to enhance realism through natural secondary motion.
Physical reactions respond dynamically to movement and interaction.

🧍‍♀️ Body Variety

Different physiques are represented naturally.
Body variety helps make each encounter feel distinct and memorable.

Hello and welcome to our first devlog!

Hello everyone! We’re excited to share some important details about our ongoing development.

A bold narrative set inside the chaotic humor of a HARDINK Creative Agency's office.

🎭 Characters & Behavior

We’re planning around 15 unique characters, each with their own personality, behavior, and reaction systems.
NPCs will act according to the natural flow of a real office.
Every character will have unique personality traits, dialogue, quests and relationships.
Your choices will directly shape relationships and how characters react to you.

🕹️ Gameplay Structure

A non-linear, freely explorable office environment.
Design focused on discovery and understanding character relationships.
Quest-based progression while relationships and choices remain entirely up to the player.
A branching narrative shaped by player decisions, offering multiple endings.
High replayability.

I wanted to jump in and get some ideas going! The office setting combined with the bar afterwards I think really opens up a lot of fun scenarios and dynamics. Girls - Boss/dom. Obviously in an office setting have to have the older bossy lady we either subjugate or takes the lead to fulfill her desires that her husband isn't filling anymore. - Shy younger girl. Stereotypical but it's always a fun corruption aspect maybe an intern or new hire who is shy to come out but starts to get addicted to...
