F1 2011

Does this game recognize the G920?
I've recently bought and unfortunately had to ask for a refund for several older games because they don't recognize my "modern" steering wheel, the Logitech G920, and without screwing around with a ton of crap (that I'm not going through to play a game!) these games simply just don't recognize the G920 so I will not play them. Is anyone using a G920 with this game, and does it work?

Any luck with this? I have a newer Fanatec and haven't gotten it to work yet. Unclear how to customize the controls using the actionMap

As you see I never got an answer. So I have to assume the answer is no, it doesn't work with this game. I was asking before I went and bought F1 2011 to find out the hard way it was another game that did not recognize the G920 wheel. I no longer have the wheel, I sold it to an Xbox user because a few months after this frustration finding a bunch of games it just would not work with Windows had some sort of update and the wheel stopped working at all in any game or even on Windows 10 it self.

My suggestion to you is to get another wheel that's on the game's list as compatible. I believe the Thrustmaster TX does work with this game, and it's what I got in place of the G920 because of the frustrating pile of issues I had with it not working with a lot of games. It's a shame because the G920 is a really nice, very well made, product. I was bummed it didn't work.

If your preference is to keep the G920 the games I found it to work well with that I had were these:

iRacing

Probably the closest to actually driving a race car you're going to get. It's truly the best racing Simulator, and is truly a simulator, that exists. The G920 worked for it when I had it and participated in iRacing.
NOTE: iRacing has been a stand alone installation for a long time. They released it for Steam just a few (maybe 3?) years ago. It's one of those games you have to register at the official site with and then tie the steam version installation to the 'official' version.

I found DiRT Rally to be wicked fun and challenging to play. G920 also works well with it. If I remember correctly there were some buggy stuff in the control settings I had to set backwards (or something) so they worked right, but it did work and IMO this series of games is extremely fun, exciting, and challenging. I broke several different tables I had the wheel attached to because I got too excited playing and toppled them over. LOL

The G920 also worked for me with MudRunner. The thing with MudRunner is, though, it really doesn't make a difference if you play with a wheel, a controller, or the keyboard because of how the game's physics and steering is. It doesn't matter if you turn the wheel just a little bit or all the way the wheels on the vehicle are either straight or turned as far as they'll go and force feedback (IMO) is pretty shotty.

The G920 did not work with ANY older games. They simply didn't recognize it and it didn't work at all as if it wasn't even plugged in. Both the game's developers that I contacted asking about it and Logitech both said that the reason is that wheel is too new and the game(s) were too old for it.

My G29 works fine, a friend of mine has a Fanatec which seems to work on this game too
