Maybe bcz it is a game for me and not real life.
Oke back to global challenges try to beat some friends there:)
With a controller it feels better, but what's the point of a semi-simulation game (the genre Codemasters used to be best at, games that are a balance between physics and accessibility, like the first GRID which is in no way a simulator but still feels 'realistic') if you can't play it properly with a wheel?
i can take it that there is no cockpit view, but i can't bear it any more the AI car use totally different physics than player car
Difficulty is also entirely arbitrary, with a huge gap between Hard and Very Hard that makes neither levels really enjoyable.
The demo derby "gift" is a joke, with even stranger physics and only one effin' car available. This is simply nothing like the 8 lap races in Grid 1.
The UI sucks too, you can't even see the paint you're designing or the wheel rims you're buying.
The only good thing is the improved Flashback that is fast and easy to use, like it should have been from the start. On the other hand, it's not something you want to use regularly and it's pretty stupid that you're allowed so many Flashbacks even in the higher difficulty levels...
Season 3 and I can't muster the courage to go on. Having played all of Codies racers since Grid/Dirt 1 I thought I knew what to expect from the solo part of this game, but I'm still appalled. For me this is a new low in singleplayer experience.
After you fully unlock tier 1 in a campaign and figure out what car works better for you, start playing tier 1 custom races online. Same for other tiers.
Recommended starter cars:
T1 Giulietta,
T2 Skyline,
T3 Corvette,
T4 Bugatti
Best cars you should aim for, unless you are playing for fun and don't care about winning:
T1 Camaro z28,
T2 Mercedes C63,
T3 Corvette z06,
T4 Agera
Try to fit as many handling upgrades as you can (2 or 3 unless it's Corvette where you can go 1-1-4), then gradually exchange them for power/drivetrain.
And welcome to Grid 2!
Also I suggest to play Hardcore playlists where recklessness is not rewarded. But caution and patience wins.
And no flashbacks is the most beautiful thing, so mistakes are not acceptable.
Hahah, that's quite a way to put it, but yeah it's true.
