GRID 2

Grid 2 online lobbies are region locked (PC)
This is ridiculous. If you change your Steam Download Server to be in US, you will get in custom lobbies US servers. I live in NL and all I play is Germans, French, Dutch and English.

Why cant they let us play agains everybody around the world. We can barely find suitable servers sometimes. Region locked basically means they are taking 80% of the custom lobbies from you.

Could be a restriction by steam itself, personally I don't have much issue with it either way. It prevents (for the most part) high ping players from ruining everyone elses fun.

I've never had any issue finding a lobby.

Are you on PC? And where are you from?

I never got bothered in Grid 1 playing against Brazilians or Chinese. I find it ridiculous that I am only locked to play some countries.

I'm from Brazil. This game is very fun, but I hate it when I want to play and there's no one else playing, and since this game's mutliplayer is region block all I can do is play against the AI in Very Hard.

They should make a way to you "unblock" your region to play against people around the world.

You can join Custom games and even join Playlist games.

Find a GRID 2 Group, click on Members, click on a member who is in-game GRID 2, you'll see a Join Game button if they are racing online. Click Join Game and be prepared for a surprise because you don't know what they're playing - what tier, game settings, what track(s) and so on.

This usually works even if they are geographically far from your location.

Interestingly I thought this method might not work well because of possibly large ping times but it seems to connect to other players and mostly works just fine if you have a good internet connection at your location. Because it does seem to work well I do not understand why the "ordinary" matchmaking works so poorly.

It's not that it is locked, it's just that it is one of the most pathetic matchmaking implementations in recent videgames history.

Just switch around steam download regions until you find one that yields a decent amount of players. Warning though, multiplayer seems to be drying out already, in this end steam reports 721 players online, of my 50 or so grid 2 contact list, 1.

Amigos. Bomdia! meu grid2 não fica em portugues pois não tem o arquivo steam_api para mudar a linguagem, Como resolvo?

I'm in the US and it's very hard to find people in the playlists. I changed my download location to London, UK and there a lots of people.

I'll do it, Boost!
Jaime, não tem como mudar a linguagem do jogo, pelo que eu sei.
Tente mudar a linguagem da sua Steam talvez.

The people on UK servers drive terribly. US has at least a couple playlists going it seems most of the time.
China Jun 30, 2013 @ 7:34pm
Really? I think that US people are bad too.
The brazilians are the best I could find. They're really great, no joke!
DotYourEyes Jul 2, 2013 @ 5:00pm
They are all bad, but a lot of the UK guys go out of their way to take you out.

Region locked. Aint this to do with Ping? Can you imagine trying to race someone with a high ping and having collisions on?

I find the times I play in UK really change a game. Afternoon when the kids are home you have races full of kids. Same in France etc.

Makes sense.
