In-game, no, you can't mute yourself. You have to unplug your mic or if it's build-in, then disable it in windows.

Select another Default Record Device in Windows. For example "Digital in". Steam is only using the default Device. Let your Mic enabled, and you can use Teamspeak or something still.

I agree I use teamspeak no reason that I have to hear someone turning their wheel I am sure it souds awesoem to them but all I hear is the sound of cats beeing murdered

LOL. Soooo many people actually think that you can't mute yourself in game. It's actually really easy: select "VOICE NONE" in the lobby. Codemasters forgot to remove the speaker icon when you talk but it is a fact that NOBODY WILL HEAR YOU. Go ahead and test it.... I'll wait. :)

They should also turn off mic icon then, because it blinks whenever I make a sound. And thats confuse players I think.

Also in some cases when you are put instantly into a game, you don't have a chance to mute yourself.
