Game crashes / freezes all the time.

First i had to disable the intel hd 4000 in bios to play. never done that before.

and after that, i couldn't play the first two missions of the game.

i uninstalled the game, deleted my profiles and reinstalled the game.

I was able to play 3 hours since now. It crashed in multiplayer this time.

All random it freezes but sound works in background. I only can kill the process by exiting steam. I can't even open task manager because the game blocks the screen. only taskbar is visual.

Annoying, really annoying.

Grid 1 also does that. The last time i played grid 1 was on a q6700. Now it's and i7 3770, or maybe it's the gpu.

I have a gtx 680.

My OS is Windows 8 64 btw and I have 16gb ram.

I have a similar issue, firstly i didnt have any issues installing or playing, however i do have the screen freezing and have to unplug and replug my keyboard to have any interface perhaps try that?

Nvidia GTS 450
reformatted a week before installation, minimal aps running

Codemasters said i should run advanced boot with msconfig.

i read this probleme come to core i7 owners in multiplayers grid2 game .... don t know how to solve this (i read and try many things but nothing worked..)

hope a nearly patch or driver ll come fast.........

i have i7 gtx680 8gb ..... i success to lvl 15 in game even if my pc crash whith black screens every 1 or 6 races max in a row...

i have a gtx 680, 16gb ram, i& 2600k with Window 8. And the same is happening to me, i cant even get past the 3rd race with out the game crashing. I was also getting a problem with Dirt Showdown it has to be a Codemasters problem because no other game i own crashes like this.........right now this game is unplayable.

Same Issues. I am at level 14 but could probably be 30 or so if game wouldnt freeze every 5 secs. It is sooo annoying. Works fine in single player but I want to play with others of course.
If anyone knows a solution, please feel free to help.

I have not tryed the multiplayer yet, only been having the freezing issues with Singleplayer.

I have been looking around and possible work arounds include:
- running game in compatability mode
- running an advanced boot with msconfig
- running the game in windowed mode

unfortunatly i have not found a fix for my issue (no response from controlls however unplugging and re-plugging my keyboard fixes this) hope this helps

Having similar problems with my I7/GTX680 system. Game never crashes on my AMD8150/HD6970 system.

I have the same problem I7 920,Hd 6970 12.3 driver.
Safemode works.I get a crash where i can not ctrl alt delete.i need to reboot my system.
I am waiting for a WORKING patch.
I pre ordered the game and will not be in the future.

Same here. Randomly just exits back to desktop with a steam popup weirdly saying that the game is already running.

I can restart the game, but when I do it hasn't saved any progress from when I last ran it.

The crashes seem to be random.

Yes, the freezing occurs in both single and multiplayer. It occurs on different computers with different video cards and different operating systems.

what annoying, the developers have not said anything yet. This game is freaking unplayable. Waste of bloody time and money atm......

Alienware TactX keyboard here, game keeps freezing. They should create a refund program for this.
