not sure cause i dont have the game, even if i did i wouldnt know unless the game explains it somehow, but from watching the different streams i have also come up with ping like u implied, so green is good connection to server , yellow is medium , white is bad , not sure about yellow and white , but green most likely is good connection

Impact Rating:

White: Clean Driver
Green: Good Driver
Yellow: Not so good driver
Red: bad driver

in a few words :)

Thanks!
Is it based on impact rating of other cars and environment or just cars?

Pretty sure it's just other cars. At least that's how it's been since DiRT 2

if they ram into cars often like run you off the road or make u crash there impact rating will start to turn negative (if impact rating is enabled in the race)

It's supposed to eventually figure into matchmaking, i.e. dirty drivers get matched to other dirty drivers. The only flaw with it right now is that it can't tell whether you rammed someone or got rammed. I went into a race with mostly green drivers, and at the end, everyone was red because of one ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who just decided to go nuts at the starting line.

I'm guessing it's based on impacts per race, so I'm sure it will average out as I do more races.

If you want to improve your rating easily just do touge. Impact ratings are always on in that mode and you only have to worry about 1 other racer.

Thanks for the tip. I'll give that a shot.

Of course, I have to stop running into people on accident for that to work. By the way, since we're on the topic of symbol meanings, anyone know what the plus/wrench signs mean next to your name before a race? I'm guessing customized livery (plus sign) and vehicle upgrades (wrench), but I'm not 100% on that.

Wrench = example a tier 1 car upgraded to tier 2

+ sign = any kind of upgrade without bumping the car to the next tier, I don't think livery customization counts.

People need to learn to drive.
I was white all day and then I got into one race and now im yellow

Gotcha. I didn't even realize I'd bumped my car up.

R4DFIELD has it spot on. Use to see who to stay clear of in a race. Either let the terrible drivers crash out in the first couple turns or wait for a safe time to pass so they don't take you out.
