Has anyone found the .cfg file?
I've been trying to find the .CFG file of the game that has all of the settings, because for some reason the 2 last advanced graphics settings can't be enabled, the smoke shadows and advanced blending? They're off by default but can't be set on, i have an Intel processor so what is up?

This technology made headlines earlier this year...

http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/processors/1298854/intel-haswell-4th-generation-core-processors-gain-gpu-optimisations

Those two options are only enabeled on Intel HD4000 equipped cpus. Those come with the new Haswells. Its a technology only available with those cpus.

sounds like a bunch of BS to me. would love to be able to force it on and see what happens hehe

What is this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crap? You can't use it on a freaking desktop PC? Hhahahaah, there has to be a .cfg file or something to force it.

I already posted an answer to this. I had to fix it myself.

When I first loaded the game, it would not give me the options to adjust resolution. The window was very small to work with.

I am sure there will be other issues besides this one, or maybe your having a slightly difference resolution issue.

The location of the file you will need to edit is here for windows 7 users.
............................your computer user name instead of sumguy.

COMPUTER/ Users/ SumGuy/ My Documents/ My games/ Grid 2/ hardwaresettings/ hardware_settings_config.xml

make a copy of this file you may need it as a back up.

Right click open with note pad. Look for full screen resolution and set it to true.
Next look for screen resolution. and set it to match your native resolution.
In my case 1920 1080. Close it when it ask to save click yes.
If you have any issues right click delete file and past back up file I told you save to use original settings.

What you need to edit the game to look good is in this file.
Most of these options are variable in the options menu when it unlocks after first 2 races.

Hope this information was helpful

this might be the option to change the Intel only settings. found this string in the .xml SumGuy954 posted.

<intel tree_aoit="false" particle_avsm="false" particle_aoit="false" />

One issue I forgot to mention. If you get stuck with a small window.Click on the game window press alt+enter

Hmm I think my game auto changes it back to false

Open .cfg file with "edit" then you may need to click format but this has always worked well for me. don't forget to save. Also, if you get confused about what you've done in there you can just delete the entire file as it would renew itself automatically the next time you start the game.
