nah that's simply a lie. It's expensive as hell to make a cockpit view for every single car, that's why they simply removed it. It's not related to hardware at all. There are many games with cockpit view for the xbox 360 and the pc and they all work at high fps rate. Some modders even made a cockpit view for Grid 2 and also for games like Saints Row 3 and they are no fps drops at all.

So the work of the Dev's is now being done by the community for the 5% of us that want a cockpit shame on you codemasters for alienating your paying customers have you never herd of menu options
you see Loore your customers want cockpit views
Err, that is why I debunked the idea...my post was taking the idea and dismantling the OPs silly explanations of the reason why it didn't exist... Got it? :-D
what cars do you drive lmfao if you sit directly infront of the wheel with your eyes open how can you not see it !!!!
Precisely 100% on the money then there would be no problem at all for those of us that want it :D we would all be happy
Also, rendering hands is daft. Each player has his own hands. Even rendering a steering wheel isn't needed for those who have one. Seeing two doesn't help. But being able to see the instrumentation panel clearly even when there are busy things going on is a great help. So is being able to use mirrors.
I played this for almost an hour. It's not the worst game I've played - that would be Flatout 3 - but it's not in the top 50%. It's mediocre at best, and a great part of this is because it's gone from semi-simulation to arcade drifting game. Losing the cockpit view nails this impression down, and so does the DLC sales starting at day 1. This is an uninstall - if I want to play arcade drifting, there are many many better games.
I am the 5%!
