GRID 2

Tier 4 cars are impossible to drive?
I loved GRID 2. I loved every minute of it, from the first race to the end of the third season. I loved it so much I played almost the entire game on "very hard". I found some cars difficult to drive, and some easy, but I never stopped having fun.

Then season 4 came around, and I was thrust into the tier 4 cars. Suddenly, I can't drive at all. The cars simply refuse to turn when I tell them to turn, and then when they DO turn, they oversteer into a mad spin. They're heavy as hell, I feel like I have to drive SLOWER in these super cars than I do in tier 3 cars simply because of how heavy they are. And yet, despite being so heavy, all it takes is a tiny little nudge from an AI car to send me careening off a cliff or doing a 360. Yet I would have to full-on RAM the AI cars for them to even diverge from the racing line.

Is it just me, or are the Tier 4 cars no fun?

It just takes time. All t4 cars are ok with upgrades, though the Agera is very tricky to keep on the track, but the secret is not to try to drive to the cars too hard.

when I first got to T4, I was like "AHHHHHH *boom* *crash*". The first car you get is a Pagani Huayra or something else, don't remember what. Mastering the speed is the hardest thing, one thing that might help is setting the difficulty lower just until you get used to the speed. Also, sometimes you will have to go slower around corners than you'd like till you can learn to drift the car perfectly. Once you get to the Bugatti Veyron, it gets way easier cause that thing drives so easily (comparitively), plus is super fast. Practice is basically the only way :P.

Compared to RDG Codemasters have messed up the driving of the super cars in GRID 2.

I only race TIER 1 and 2, honestly all the other Tiers are crap because you do not feel the game, no sense of speed.

Well the best thing to that I can tell you about tier 4 cars is brake early and often. You have to be careful with the amount of throttle you give them when going around turns as well.

Even on keyboard?Maybe on gamepad/wheel.

Even if you use a keyboard you should still do the things I recommended. Its alot faster if you brake too early coming up to a turn and are able to get through it cleanly than it is to brake too late and hit the wall or run off the track.

Yo, I usually don't post, but i tested a few cars around, especially for Online Multiplayer. i'd say the easiest 2 cars in T4 to handle are the Mercedes 722 (that you get in your early levels as a rent car on Online Multiplayer) and the Veyron. Give or take the Huyara and Audi R8 aren't half bad if you like how they run. The others skid sometimes too much for my taste, not saying Agera is bad, but i'd rather play the Mercedes 722 and have fun, than to win a race in Agera and be all stressed out about it's control.

PS : I don't have the DLCs, so i'm not counting does in.

Upgrade? Wtf are you talking about upgrade? Is that something you can do in multiplayer? I'm talking about the single player campaign.

Right now I just started Tier 4, I haven't finished a single event, I only have the Pagani Huaraorayoaaraa, The Aston Martin, and the something else I can't remember. The Pagani and Aston Martin are the two heaviest of the three, and they're both drift cars. Absolute nightmare to drive. The third one is a balanced car, and its the lightest, but it's still a pain in the arse to drive. I'm used to playing on Very Hard and coming in 1st or 2nd on almost every race, but for tier 4 I had to knock it down to medium just to come in 2nd.

What's worse is that all the races make you start out in the back, like 10th or something. Then every race starts out with the announcer saying "don't crash your way through the pack, it's silly!", but that's really the only way to win the race. If I haven't made it up to 3rd by the time the first lap is done, there's no chance for 2nd or first. And the only way to make it up to 3rd by the end of the first lap is to force and shove my way up through the pack. But the tier 4 cars are so heavy, that the slightest knock against an AI car sends ME flying and spinning. And hilariously, if it's the other way around and they knock me, it STILL sends ME flying and spinning.

For some reason, on the tier 4 races, all the cars stay in a nice big pack except for the 1st and 2nd cars, which seem to have nitrous or some magic ability to shoot ahead of the pack and be completely IMPOSSIBLE to catch up to.

PS I am playing with an Xbox 360 gamepad, but I find it is much easier to treat the analog sticks on the gamepad like keyboard controls. For example, if I'm going around a long curve, and I try to hold the stick in the turning position, I will inevitably spin out or go into a drift if I'm in a drift car or balanced car. I do not want to do this. So instead I will tap-tap-tap the analog stick as if it were the left arrow key on my keyboard to go around a curve. That way I can actually steer without going into a drift every time.
