GRID 2
Problem with Full Screen on TV - HDMI
Anybody having the same issues than me ? In my PC monitor, the game runs just fine, 1080p full screen or windoned, but I have a Plasma TV conected to the VGA through HDMI, and the runs only in Windowned mode, if I put in Full Screen, the TV shuts down...

This particular problem, affects ONLY GRID 2, I run almost all games on de TV, and NEVER saw anything like it.

You know any kind of pc specs would be helpful.

I don't have that problem, not on an amd 6850 or R9 270.

Have you tried putting it up windowed and hitting alt+enter to go fullscreen?

anezz, my specs...
i5 + GTX 650ti

I try alt + enter to go fullscreen, but the problem always apear.
I have a TV connected through hdmi and a monitor through DVI both connected in the same VGA(650ti), in the monitor, works just fine, not even a sign of problem, but the TV... arrrghhhh...

This problem is new to me, I have 167 games in my library in Steam, and NEVER see this problem, only in GRID 2.
Looks to be an Nvidia+Grid2 problem then, no experience with that.

I never had this problem until yesterday but I am having it today.
The game would run full screen on the monitor but around 3 seconds after I set it to full screen on my plasma tv it goes back to window mode.

Tried switching amplifier and tv off and on, tried rebooting the computer a couple of times, same problem.

And I have a Radeon 5770

Have you been albe to solve your problem?

I solve my problem setting in 720p, this way it works, maybe it works in 900p, but I didn't try.
In 1080p, no way this game can work on full screen.

I've done more testing and the same thing happens with another Codemasters racing game, Dirt3. Botth GRID2 and Dirt 3 were fine until yesterday, I think I need to find out how to reset settings...
Tried other games and they are still OK.

Thanks, I'll try changing the resolution

This is indeed a resolution issue. Or rather a screenmode that is unsupported by the tv. It can be that it changes to 1080p with a wrong refreshrate or color setting that the monitor can understand but the tv can't. I would recommend setting the in-game resolution to anything low that works, go full screen and from there set it back to 1080p. The game should detect what the TV can view, although it might not due to the DVI to HDMI cable.

anyway, it´s a big problem from the Codemasters itself, at least 2 games from their lists have this issue, and never, never ever seen this problem with another game, and I play A LOT!
Big thumbs down for Codemasters, either they are really incompetent, or they don´t give a ♥♥♥♥ about their costumers...

Have you tried running the game from steam's big picture mode? It may be that the game sets your TV to the native resolution of your primary screen. Big picture has stuff in it to combat these problems. I've played a few race games on my PC, and had to use big picture mode to get it to work correctly.

LPCHIP, i´m gonna try... tnks

Let us know how things turn out. I know for a fact that big picture will set your tv as primary display and set its resolution to whatever you have specified in big picture before launching any game which should make running any game in full screen a breeze.

LPCHIP, maybe u can help in other problem I´m having with the TV connected to the PC. The TV is blinking, or, how can I say it, is doing blackscreen for a fraction os second, ALL the time, even in only the desktop. Sometimes do more times, sometimes, a litlle, but, always been doing since I switch my VGA, from nVidia 650ti to a R9 280x. Did you ever seen anything like it ? The monitor, is conected with DVI, and working really fine, no problems, only the TV
I have Samsung Smart TV 40ES6800 and Radeon R7 260X (earlier Geforce GT260) connection by HDMI and fullscreen 1080p 60Hz always works in this game... (both for AMD and Nvidia cards)

This can have many origins. From a wrong refreshrate to a faulty cable to a defect on the videocard. It requires extensive testing to find the cause.
