Rank GRiD and DiRT Games! Are Originals Worth It?

I've only played DiRT 2, 3, and GRiD 2, and am wondering if the original GRiD would be more up my alley. I've invested more than 5 hours in GRiD 2 and my level of frustration outweighs any level of fun for me. I felt the same way with DiRT 3, which felt like work.

DiRT 2 is my all-time favorite racing game. It requires skill, the balancing is excellent, the variety and unlocking system propels you through the game, and the music and effects keep the game FUN. I loved the spirit and attitude of the game. I'd rank the games as follows:

1) DiRT 2
....by a longshot... followed by...
2) GRiD 2
3) DiRT 3 (kind of a tie between these two)

**haven't played original DiRT or original GRiD... let me know if they are still worth picking up if I liked DiRT 2 but didn't care for 3 or GRiD 2...

I have ToCA3, GRID, G2, DiRT, DiRT2, DiRT3 and F!2010. GRID is my favorite by far. But it's a matter of personal taste. I'd say try it.

Oh, and I also have FUEL, but haven't really checked it out yet.

Codemasters Steam based i'd recommend you get GRID and FUEL, the best games CM has released in the past 10 years (my opinion). although getting FUEL is close to impossible i think, as it doesn't appear on steam anymore. I wouldn't bother with DIRT too much.

F1 2010 - for some solid play (or 2011, 2012 if you wish a casual easy experience) ; My PC doesn't allow me to run 2013 :D
Moto GP13 - tried it a bit (2 hours), seemed rather solid and potentialy more fun than GRID2 - with that being said, the 40E price is a bit too much, i'd give it a shot on a -60 or -75% sale.
GT Legends - pretty old but has tons of cars and content and the gameplay is fairly ok
Flatout 1 and 2 - i'd easily rate these over DIRT series at any hour, as any of these is more of a rally game than any of the DIRT series ... and it's not a rally game to begin with.
Dyad - tbh i haven't tested this game at all, but it has the best reviews out of any racing game from steam

He means Ridge Racer Driftopia, which is also free on steam. I recommend this if you get tired of the demolition derbies on GRID2's playlist. I played around 7-8 races and couldn't finish one without having a threesome with a random driver on a side and a wall/building/tree on the other.

Not sure what game you guys are playing but ... you guys saying DIRT games are actually any good, have you played the initial Colin McRae series ? or what are you comparing DIRT games to ? cause the DIRT series are probably the worst rally racing games ever launched, and one of the worst racing game series. i'd even take NFS anytime over them ................................
