I might be wrong, but the rims are actually only optics in the game. It doesn't have any influence in the drivability of the car. If someone has any other information, please correct me, but I do think that rim size doesn't benefit in any way.

your opinion is invalid. rims and paint jobs are cosmetic only. perhaps you took a placebo.
Monk Jan 18, 2016 @ 7:02am
are you for real? rim size has no effect on car handling at all, not in grid2. (lvl99 here; 700h+)
Agera R is what it is - an overpowered beast of a car, I love it!

Well agera is what it is i like it i love it i hate it i scare it. Bottom line is,you never get enough practice to drive it never, it takes lot of finesse and practice to master it.

"Sometimes i go really hard on it sometimes i go really carefully and smooth no its not lady its agera+"

Not totally OK with you Rigor_morti5, because I think that's a pity that the greatest and fastest car of all the game was "created" by Codemasters/Feral with this unberable drift setting !
And the problem is the same for CCGT and Pagani Zonda R : for me it's incomprehensible, it's a nonsense and almost an heresie.

As I wrote it in my first message, those cars (Especially CCGT and Zonda R...) were REAL race cars, and even if they are not 4x4 like Bugatti or Audi R8, they should have the same behavior as Volvo BTCS which is a propulsion ! (Or like McLaren F1 "Longtail" which won Le Mans in 1995)

I adore driving those cars from tier 4 and also a lot of smaller cars from the others tiers, because I know that I will have fun with them.

But Agera has a so abrupt, unforeseeable and brutal behavior, that I'm careful, hesitant, wary … and thus frustrated. Because from the first corner, a simple braking or a little acceleration, I don't know if I will be still on the track at the end !

Exactly as with Ford Sierra ! (And sometimes with Honda NSX at my beginnings...)

I was impatient to finish the WSR “Career” in order to gain Agera. But alas, I found again all the defects of the CCGT, but amplified ! A poor sound, (In any case on Mac…) and a cake of soap instead of a car.

Those who like “Drift” can buy a DLC Pack. Then, why have proposed in this game as many cars having this characteristic, or for me, this desease ?

Yes Rigor_morti5, the Agera COULD have been the most fantastic car of this game, only if it had been easier to drive...
Rigor Morti5 Jan 18, 2016 @ 3:06pm
In my opinion agera+ is great as it is now if it handling made too easy it would destroy class balance too much.
This being said as it is fastest car player needs to be aware its characteristics and earn right to dominate with it.
I see lot ppl try it and as usually noobs goes fast back to driving "brick=bugatti" since they lack skills to drive agera+ and when i say agera+ i mean fully tuned beast.

I hadn't drive Agera for a long time because for me it was too difficult to control and thus, I didn't really have fun with.
(Because as you say it, everyone can easily handle Bugatti !)

But yesterday after having read again your message, I made several laps of circuits with my Agera and it's true that it's a fantastic car ! It's also because since I gained it, I progressed and I manage to control it much better than before.
(But I'm VERY far from your level and I only almost play in "Personnal WSR - Pro level" ! So, as I'm not OnLine, except for the "Global Challenge", my Agera isn't "fully tuned" as yours !)

So you're right : it's so powerful and fast, that if it acted like a VW Golf R, it would dominate all the other cars too easily...

Golf understeers way too much same as brick its not competitive agera+ handling is just perfect once getting used to it.

You're right Rigor_morti5, Golf understeers, but no problem with the handbrake !

I like this way of driving and I prefer cars which understeer a little like Golf, Ford UTE or Nissan Slyline A Group R32, instead of the opposite as BMW Z4, Honda NSX, KTM X-bow or Nissan Skyline Auto Gallery.
Even if I like this last Nissan because of its engine sound and especially its rocket acceleration, (Of course, I don't compare it with Agera !) it turns directly more often in the walls or on the grass, than it stays on the track... ;-))

Tips for agera usage: Use a higher than typical gear every time you need to regain traction. The main thing is just don't give it full throttle and it drives like any car from GRID autosport. I find using gear 3 instead of 2 is a lot safer than shifting down to second gear. Always step on throttle very gradually, and use half throttle during turns. Same applies to the Huayra which i view as a safer version of the agera, in terms of handling characteristics. I cannot stand the buggati, cuz as soon as you lose a single tire, it's pretty much useless.

Hi Cuddletauren !

Thanks for your advices about Agera usage, but as I only play with my keyboard, I don't really understand how it's possible for me to "choose" a gear instead of an other.

I drive this car like an "Automatic car" so the gears depend of my speed. It's the same thing for my 75 others cars : when I brake, the gears "shift down" and when I accelerate, the gears "shift up" ! (Sorry for my English but I don't know the correct expression...)
I can't stay as I want on the 3rd or the 4th gear or if I do that, I stop the acceleration of my Agera and others drivers will overtake me ! Of course, I drive slowly in the turns if I don't want to finish in the gravels. Especially with a so powerful car.

I also don't undersatand what you wanted to say about cars from GRID Autosport. Is it because they' are still more difficult to handle or to control, and drift still more than some of GRID 2 ?

(I would like to buy this game, but I read many bad criticisms about it. That the game is not really better than GRID 2; that the "cockpit view" is dreadful; that you can't modify the appearence of the cars; that the A.I. is terrible, etc. Is that true ?)

And to finish, I don't understand either why so much people hate Bugatti at this point ! I like this car because it's one of those, thanks to its 4x4 transmission, which drift the less ! The only thing I regret is the ridiculous sound of its engine, especially for a huge 16 cylinders... and YES it's not a very nice car !

Thanks for your help ! :steamhappy:

Well first of all, you shouldn't play with a keyboard. You really get the most fun from these games with a gamepad. I'd start with buying one of those instead of another game. GRID Autosport has very different handling than GRID 2. GRID 2 cars are very drifty and you're meant to powerslide around corners at speed. I'm not sure if the cars are harder to control in AS vs GRID 2, but you definitely have to take a different approach to how you drive them.

GRID Autosport does have a blurry cockpit view (you cannot see any instrumentation, but you can see the wheel, but compare it to GRID 2 not having a cockpit view, and it's pretty much a bonus feature. Same liveries are possible in GRID AS as GRID 2, however you can't own every car you want. You need garage slots which come every 10 levels. It's a lot of grinding just to get an extra car for your garage.

Bugatti is bad because the all wheel drive leads to no drive at all if you lose any single tire. That's why I don't use it anyway, I'd take any tier 4 car over the bugatti any day. It's not fast enough to hit 440km/h, which the Agera can hit (but expect to smash into a wall after that speed).

Thanks for your answer and your assistance Cuddletauren !

But as I wrote it in my 01/18/16 message, I'm not from the generation of the “controlled toys” or video games and I don't manage to drive if I'm not IN the car. I tested on several occasions with sight ON the car, as with a "radio-controlled car", but it was catastrophic !

Thus I use the keys of my iMac keyboard, but not those which are indicated on the guide :
I use the index and the major of my right hand on the arrows “Up-Down” to accelerate and to brake, the major and the index of my left hand on the arrows “Left-Right” to turn, the side of my right inch on the “Zero” key for the handbrake, my left annular on the "Right Control" key for the back camera, and my right annular on the "1” key for the replays.

As all those keys are very close to each other, I just have to cross and to place my fingers on the good place like on a piano, and all functions perfectly ! (Now, I have so much the habit that I control my cars as well or better as if I had a console...I think.)

Thanks too for your advices about GRID 2 vs GRID AS. I'll see if I'll buy this game or not.

It's very strange what you say about Bugatti, because I don't feel the same problem and I like it well, except its sound. For sure, the car don't reach its real speed of 440 kmh, but for me it turns and brakes correctly, not like Mercedes SLR 722 ! (To choice, I prefer SLR 722 GT...)

Bye and thanks again for all. :steamhappy:
