GRID 2 Won't Complete Installation
I keep getting the error message that Grid 2 can't complete the installation because the Steam servers are too busy. I've tried it multiple times and have recently reinstalled it and I continue to get the error. I know its not the servers because its happened far to many times.

Fresh download did not work, neither did spamming the play button, only resulted in getting the error 53!

I have found a fix, at least for me -

Issues and Fixes

Secondary Installers

If you're encountering issues when launching or playing Grid 2, make sure everything installed correctly.
Aside from verifying your game cache and checking your connection with Steam, you may also need to manually run secondary installers required by this game.
Exit Steam entirely.
Browse to your Grid 2 installation folder (Usually C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\grid 2\)
Run the following installers:
...\Steam\Steamapps\common\grid 2\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010\DXSETUP.exe
...\Steam\Steamapps\common\grid 2\_CommonRedist\DotNet\3.5\dotnetfx35.exe
...\Steam\Steamapps\common\grid 2\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2010\vcredist_x86.exe
...\Steam\Steamapps\common\grid 2\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2010\vcredist_x64.exe
Reboot your computer and test the issue again. If the issue persists, contact Grid 2 support.

OS Specific Troubleshooting

If the above does not resolve the issue and you are running Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows Vista, please complete the instructions in our Windows 7, Windows 8, and Vista Troubleshooting FAQ.
If you are running in Windows XP, take the following steps:
Exit Steam.
Go to the Start menu, select Run, type regedit and click OK.
Navigate to the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\VALVE
Right click and select Permissions
Check the Allow boxes for Admin and System for both Full control and Read.

I actually solved it by going into the game folder and launching both grid2 and grid2_avx.
