Grid 2 - Free drive mode?

Hey guys,

I have tried both, the multiplayer and career modes on Grid 2, and I must say, they suck. Multiplayer - glorified bumper-cars; Career - dull.
All I want to do is switch the game on, select a circuit, select a car, and do a few laps with or without AI. I don't want any restrictions, like "You have to finish 50% of career mode to drive this car" or "Unlock this circuit by doing [whatever]"; all I want is to be able to select a car, select a track, choose whether or not I want AI and drive.
Is that possible to do in the game?
