Red River: COOP How does it work?... or does it at all?
Hi there.

According to Codemasters O.F.: Red River is designed arround the Coop-mode which is supposed to deliver "awesome blah" game experience. Bespoke Coop-Mode is a so called "drop in, drop out" Coop-System which means it should be possible to join a running Game of one of your friends "AT ANY TIME THROUGHOUT THE GAME".

Now, when I try to play Red River in Coop with my mate there's NO CHANCE at all to do so. When we try to join each others Campaigns via "LIVE", after a short buffering, there's the following message:
"Join attempt failed. The session may no longer be available"

By now we tried everything we can think of, as to how to start a coop mission including starting a LAN-Coop via Hamachi. There's always no chance to "drop in" to the game. When we create a public online Server we can't se each others servers, despite the fact that i occasionally saw servers of other players i didn't know.

So, my Question to u all is:
HOW are we supposed to play Red River in coop? Obviously it IS somehow possible, even with Windows LIVE down (or not quite down). Is it all about opening ports and stuff like that with which i don't have much of a experience?

Can anyone enlighten me? That would be awesome.
Thanks

The coop mode doesnt require you to do all the ports and server things, all you need is to have a windows live account, and then when you try to go in to coop it will ask for you user name and password for windows live, put it in and your done.
Hi!

Im sorry, but your answer is not really helpful because it misses the point.

Unless I completely missunderstand your suggestion, what you say is that we have to log into our LIVE account and the game does the rest? Fact is that its not that simple.

Going into COOP and gonig into LIVE is exactly what we do. But after that there is no chance we find our sessions. If we missinterpreted something in your answer then we are sorry and ask you to elaborate on that point. Do make us wiser!

- We DO see each other online via LIVE.
- We can attempt to invite or join sessions.

But there is always a connection timeout: "session may no lonter be available". And it absolutely doesn't matter at which point we try to join a session and which kind of sourcery we additionally try. We cannot connect.

Yet somehow we seem to be the only ones who never get it to work, so our suspicion is that we might DO something wrong?!

cheers!

Got the same problem here. Maybe there is a solution after 8 months?
Hi there!
Sorry to say so, buddy. But no...
Still I had ONE chance to join some random guy I saw on the serverlist. But never again. And never with those in my friendslist.
Gave up on this. Booked it as most depressing coop-rxperience ever ^^

I guess you have to be lucky to be somewhere on the magical "No-problrms-here, its-so-simple-just join-the-effin-game"-list. I however... obviously am nowhere on that one.

regards!
and better luck

aaawwww ♥♥♥♥. payed 1,99€ for this ^^

Thanks for the answer, man! wish you a nice evening!
One opens a lobby.
You join.
Then start campaign.
uhm... yes.
That is EXACTLY how it should work.
Still. It did obviously refuse to work for quite a number of people. Or these Threads would not exist.

thx anyway

I thank you muppet, for your helpless explanation how multyplayer SHOULD work - but as you can see i wrote 3 posts above yours: "Got the same problem here. " this should show you, that is DOESNT work.
Well, helpless explaination?
At least you know that you did it right.
That game with live is full of things that can go wrong.

And i tell you it DOES work since i have that game (if you get to that point). Thats why i tried to state a how to.
There is no need for two people to write about my post.

Hi, Guys

That's really strange. It seems there are two groups of users out there:
-The ones with absolutely no trouble playing Coop
-And those where the Coop won't work what so ever
It just accured to me:
I don't know where you guys, JamesBondStyle and Muppet among Puppets are from, but i reckon due to your username der_Daen , you're from GER / AUT?
As for me and Dr.Friedlich_Loesung , we are from GER, so Could that whole unable to join Coop-thing be a "local issue"?
I'm no chief of Server engineering so please correct me if such a thing is not possible, but what if the game somehow doesn't support Coop in GER/AUT or even EU?

What do you think?

Regards!

So far nothing points to it

You need TeknoGods (TeknoXlive) via Hamachi or Tunngle (if u play with other people, other than ur personal friends).
