and the difference is #5 involves collecting gems even after you're fully upgraded so as to be able to use one-time boosts. And I'm sure using these boosts might be required to easier complete some of the later levels too. It just seems like a way to pad out the game more due to it apparently lacking in content over #4.
you can be sure after 20 mins but i actually did beat the game
You played the game 7 hours and beat the whole game?
#4
I've played 27 hours in that and am still not nearly finished.
I don't think you realise how little content #5 has compared to #4. Have you played #4?
I actually don't think you know what you are talking about. But you have made me realise that #5 is a very small game compared to #4 and seems they tried to pad it with this boost mechanic.
because map for 4 looks much smaller 70 vs 30
also you do realize that this is match 3 game which can be just blitzed
in #4 only part of the game is the map, there are many other parts to it also. They take a lot longer to finish than just the quest.
Seems #5 is the equivalent to a single quest from #4.
You're looking at a map of one of the small games. Yuo need to do some research.
you're starting to be a bit rude so I'm not going to continue much longer. You don't seem to believe what I'm saying and you're also making incorrect assumptions.
#4 has approximately x2 the number of levels and then the puzzle mode which will take a very long time to finish. It involves playing the selection of mini-games and collecting all the games treasures. Also the main levels have gold, silver and bronze finishes which add to the replayabilty to get gold in each.
Another flaw I'm finding in #5 is the fact that you have to go for score and also another target at the same time. Which means a lot of the time having to avoid the target in order to obtain the score within the time limit. Some may view this as an added strategical element but it seems to have a detrimental effect on the gameplay.
Sounds like you like #5 a lot, I can only recommend to you to try #4 and I'm sure you will enjoy it. I hope you do.
instead of answer you just giveing me your assumptions about 5 and about the speed i play this genre
i'm getting gold from the first try
i'm not liking 5 a lot i just don't like that you say something based only on your assumptions which is not true in game
one doesn't need to farm anything
i like 3 but it is borked and crashes all the time
If we look at my two assumptions that I made after I'd played the game for twenty minutes (I have now played two hours)
1) The game involves much more grinding due to the gems system and potentially having to buy boost items.
2) The game has a lot less content than its predecessors.
You have argued against on both points. So the first point if I can quote a sentence from YOUR own review
"Core scoring system became much easier, there are several money-grind levels, so you can buy more power-ups before retrying failed main level." So here in your review you acknowledge that there are grind elements to the game and in order to make the game easier players can grind out gems to by boost items to reduce the difficuly level.... exactly what I was proposing!!!
The second point I think we have established solely on the game having half the amount of levels and that is not taking into account the extensive puzzle mode which would at least double the play time.
So it seems my first impression assumptions that I came here to clarify (was hoping for some developer feedback truthfully) have been confirmed.
There was no assumption about the speed you played the genre. You said you had finished the game #5, so naturally the time you had played it would be some type of guide to the amount of content. There is no way you or anyone could complete all of #4 in 7 hours!
if you can read it says that system is in place but not that you have to grind
you know like you can grind in dark souls to overlevel everything and breeze through
or in mega man where you can grind HP. that is a positive systems for low skill players which gives them chance to replace skill with patience
and as i clearly said i used that only in tutorial and there is no need for it if you skilled enough
you yourself always say "it's potentially" but state that grinding is the must
if you don't know yet you can't state that as a fact
same goes for content
you haven't finished either game in your own pace but only has my metrics with no solid numbers for the ratio at which my skill is better than yours
and i clearly stated 70+3 but you refuse to say me exactly how much levels are there in 4
also if by "puzzle" levels you mean you just sit and look into the screen without any actions — that's not play time that's downtime
there is no assumption but there is assumption that i cannot finish it in 7 hours. yeah logic
and again you compare it to the rest of the games, while you played only 1 other game (same as me though) out of 5
you question was about grinding and i clearly stated that if you are good enough you never have to use it. that is direct answer to direct question
you have your direct answer
you are unfun and i don't care anymore, i'm unsubscribing from this thread
DIXI
that's not what the puzzle levels are!! that would be awful!! the puzzle levels are 8 mini games that you repeat in an attempt to collect all the treasure of Montezuma. Now, this part of the game can certainly be viewed as grindy as the treasure you receive is random and you can get the same treasure twice. The levels are timed and you are not sitting just looking at the screen lol.
So basically we agree that the developers have implemented an additional potential grind mechanic in the form of the one-use boost items. I'm glad we have some common ground here.
I'll see how long it takes me and some friends to complete the game and then include that information in my review when I construct it so others are aware of the amount of content this game includes.
I think we could have found the common ground much sooner had it not been for the air of arrogance you brought with you to the discussion. Something to work on for future conversations maybe.
