F1 2010 Won't Load

I can't get F1 2010 to load up on my windows 8 PC. I saw in other posts links to go to that no longer take you to the correct page. Any help?

I dont know what error you get but i hope this might help
I have a fix that fixed mine but i cant type now ill come back after college and try to help you out, i have a windows 8.1 pro whats your os and pc

1.Go to your "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\F1 2010"
2.Right click on "f1_2010.exe"
3.Troubleshooter
4.select compability to Windows XP Sp3
5. Game Should then run once you apply these settings
6.Im Late to college but its ok i have an annoying teacher

What is the error? so far you didnt tell us whats the error that you get :P

It doesn't give an error. It will show I am in game for 3 seconds while it acts like its going to load. Then nothing happens and it pulls my back out from saying im "in game".

I did that and it said everything was ok. Then tried to load and it did the exact same thing :(

Does it run on task manager But the game dosent show up?

It does not run in the task manager when I click to fire it up. It only says i am "in game" on steam.......0_0

Oki now that is really wired, i reccomend you try contact steam support or codemasters forum

So I emailed Codemaster Customer Service, they replied;

"Thank you for submitting your recent request to Codemasters Customer Services concerning F1 2010.

This version of the game does not officially support Windows 8, so we are limited in the support we can provide unfortunately. However as long as all your hardware has Windows 8 compatible drivers, and meets or exceeeds the minimum requirements of the game, you should be able to get it to run. We also recommend that you install the Games for Windows Live client from here...

We have no plans for a Windows 8 patch, at the current time I'm afraid.

I downloaded what they had put in there, but whenever I try to run that programme I get this message:

"Can't start the program. There may be a problem with your internet connection or the LIVE service.

Open Internet Explorer and try to open a Web page. If you can't, contact your ISP. If you can browse the internet, you can find more help in the internet connections problems file."

There is a trouble shoot button to click on, but it says that there are no solutions available. Would it really be that hard to come out with a Windows 8 patch?

Any suggestions? lol

Try installing the lastest version of Games for Windows Life manually , u can download from here: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=201134

Forks fine on even Windows 10 after doing this. Good Luck.
