Strafe Running?
Just picked it up, so far loving it. But...

No strafe running? Really? I was expecting to receive a speed boost for holding Forward + Strafe, like a classic shooter.

Also tried Bunny Hopping and Circle jumping and neither worked for improving my mobility.

Not that the built in mobility is bad, but my brain always seems to automatically assume that Strafe Running / Bunnyhopping / Circlejumping are going to work. I spent the whole first level bunny hopping around and swirling my camera trying to go faster.

I understand if Circlejumping can't be implemented (that's a weird Quake engine thing), but Strafe Running and Bunnyhopping could be totally implemented. I need more speed, damn it!

...Actually, after some more horsing around, looks like Bunnyhopping does build speed if you're trying to strafe run at the same time. Slick!

Strafe jump requires forward button to be pressed

Basically you have Painkiller-style "Hold Forward" bhopping with air control tied to mouse, plus added accelleration when holding down a strafe key while doing so.

Not really bhopping or strafe jumping in the traditional Quake engine sense but once you get the hang of it its pretty rewarding.

Yeah, I figured it out after a bit. You need to strafe run + bunny hop to build speed.

It's a bit uninituitive at first because Strafe Running alone DOES NOT increase your speed, and neither does Bunny Hopping. If you're doing both, you gain awesome acceleration.
