I also found that you can shoot through glass with some weapons (glitch?) this makes it easier to steal from shopkeepers because you can kill their defense bots.
I also found an item, rocket boots or something, that will let you slow your fall.
With these items, I was able to reach the boss. Without these items, I don't think I would have even wanted to keep playing that long.
The worst is when it's a low, narrow hallway you can't Strafe Jump through because you'll hit your head on the ceiling, bounce into the floor, and still be on jump cooldown, so you lose all your speed and take some damage anyway.
It gets much better off Icarus when the killer environments aren't so tight and you'll always have an option of walking around it.
Even in a completely tight hallway where you'll bonk your head, you can mitigate almost all damage with a good hop, or if you desperate don't want to take 3 damage, which I can understand, you can lure an enemy over and kill them nearby, and then stomp on their corpse to slide gibs over the acid.
Generally speaking though, a whole hallway should not be filling up with acid, the jellyfish leave little specks and the hive itself blasting away is almost always up to you and your gunfire.
If acid continues to greatly frustrate you, you can buy some bloodbugs as well to huck at whatever you want with rightclick and completely coat in blood. (They're usually meant to be left clicked for health gain)
Maybe I've just been unlucky, but this seems to happen a lot.
Not sure what you mean by this?
