Verticle Sensitivity vs Horizontal Sensitivity
Didn't see anything about this yet.
The game has a clear problem [for me] with disproportionate sensitivity when looking left to right versus up to down.

Setup:
Mouse- Rival 300 SS, Kunai v2, Deathadder 3.5g
Keyboard- AZIO MGK V1
Monitor- Acer 144hz 24', Asus 60hz 24'
CPU- Intel i7-4970k
GPU- GTX 970 Zotac
PSU- 850w Corsair
RAM- 16GB Kingston
OS- Windows 10 - 64 bit

Confirming that I am having this problem as well. Mouse is much more sensitive on Y axis.

To everyone having this issue, the only thing I can find that you all share seems to be the higher-than-60hz on the monitor. I'm not the programmer, and I have no idea how this could possibly cause this issue, but we're definitely looking into it.

I've ran STRAFE with a 60hz monitor and the problem consists.

The only thing I can think of: The mouse sensitivity may be the same on each axis, but the engine is calculating the camera rotation based on the screen resolution. If I'm correct, the effect should be more severe on ultra-wide monitors.

Ah, well thanks for weeding out that possibility.

Can you run the game in something like 1920x1080 windowed mode and see if the problem persists? (Obviously if its a resolution thing we'd want to fix it properly, I'm just trying to nail down it being a res thing)

Yes it behaves the same way in windowed mode. On a side note, since this is the Unity engine the game can only run in windowed mode - Unity does not support fullscreen, it just calls borderless window fullscreen. It used to include optional support for fullscreen for OpenGL and DX9, but the functionality has been completely removed for DX11. It's caused so many issues for me over the past few years I want to throttle the Unity developers sometimes...

In any case I was going to test different aspect ratios, but the game is forcing a 16:9 resolution no matter which option I select (1280x1024 becomes 1280x720, for example.)

Really? That's really strange. If you erase your save (god I know I've mentioned this over and over, sorry if you've read it before) located in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Pixel Titans\STRAFE and then boot holding alt - and then select a weird res - does that change the aspect? I've seen people use ultrawide aspect ratios before

Nope it's still doing it - if I select 1280x1024 window mode in the Unity launcher, as soon as the game launches it switches to 1920x1080 borderless window (matching my desktop resolution I'm assuming,) and attempting to change the resolution in game still forces 16:9 resolutions. I don't have any other aspect ratio monitors to test with.

I have a topic regarding this in the bug forum as well, http://steamcommunity.com/app/442780/discussions/2/1334600128974858218/

@Soup, regarding Unity only supporting fullscreen window, you can set the D3D11 Fullscreen Mode to Exclusive Mode in the Standalone Player Options. Does this not work as expected for you?

You can use '-window-mode exclusive' as a launch option to force the game to use exclusive fullscreen.

So, while this didn't fix my sensitivity problem, it did make my game run WAY better. Previous to this, while the game reported anywhere from 80-120 fps, it never *felt* like that. Forcing the game to run in an exclusive fullscreen makes the game feel MUCH smoother.

Unfortunately it appears to be cutting off the sides of my screen, meaning I can't really read the amount of scrap that I have, or the amount of money I have. But damn, the game feels so much better like this I feel like it is worth it.

Good news, guys! The next update will change look sensitivity into two sliders so you can change horizontal and vertical sensitivity separately! We're not sure why on some systems the vertical sensitivity is higher/lower than expected, but the new option should solve the issue by letting you lower it separately. Thanks for your patience!

Can you guys maybe add an option to toggle exclusive fullscreen on or off? I'm in the same boat as the last user where exclusive fs makes the game feel way better, it might be placebo but i notice this with other games aswel, csgo and quake live come to mind.

That happened to me too the first time i did it, but it was becase i was on a 4:3 res, i swapped over to 16:9 and the HUD rendered correctly.

You can?? I did a ton of research on this problem back when Unity started getting popular and the only workaround I found was to force the game to use the OpenGL renderer. I even found a thread on the Unity developer forums of developers complaining that the engine forced them to choose between borderless window and fullscreen AT COMPILE TIME and could not support both, with some people mentioning that the fullscreen option was no longer available at all with the DX11 renderer. Once that got deprecated in version 4.5 or so I've been unable to find any other solution.

I need to try this now. If it works, maybe I can actually update my video drivers without rendering all Unity games unplayable due to nVidia breaking windowed mode vsync and gsync.
