Partial Controller Support?
Hi, I was just wondering what the store page means when it says "partial controller support". Will my xbox controller be compatible with the game? Can the developers give any details about this?

Yes, they said they are looking into key binding and controller options.

Game should detect a regular Xbox controller as well as a Playstation controller. You cannot rebind controller buttons, but we have two familiar defaults to choose from.

Keys are totally rebindable.

Thank you Baka! Is there an aim assist function, to make up for the controller being stiffer?

If there is any aim assist, will we be able to disable it when using a gamepad?

There is, and you can disable it.

the steam controller utility supports xbox360, xboxone, ps4 and any xinput controller now, so even if controllers cannot be rebound in game, players can easily create profiles in the steam utility, and anyone can use them, so once people have made a number of configs there will likely be a decent number of them to choose from in the profile list even for those that dont want to make their own profile.

Will one of the controller layouts have jumping mapped to one of the upper shoulder buttons (LB/RB, L1/R1)? That's what I usually go with since it allows for jumping and aiming at the same time.

In case anyone was curious, a game cannot be counted as having "Full Controller Support" unless every single game element is navigable using a controller and the game can be launched using a controller (has no custom launcher) from big picture mode. Otherwise the game is counted as having "partial controller support" if it just allows for say Player Input from a controller.

ok, awesome! Thanks for the replies. preordered yesterday, can't wait to play. If it's ok, I have one more question. will this game launch at midnight, or some time during the 9th?

It seems to be releasing at 9AM PST, You can look at the steam page and it has a proper countdown thing now so you can check when it comes out for you.
