I hope you and me get a solution
I do suspect it is something to do with a firewall or antivirus, but I can't seem to find the right setting to fix it.
This is a Microsoft firewall problem, so would be present in Win8 and above. If you have any other firewalls enabled, check them also. This is always going to be a problem when GG is used, since you are technically loading a virus everytime you load game.
Tech support suggested it might be a corrupted file and gave the following suggestions
1. Not running anything else in the background - the only thing I have running is Steam which I need to launch it obviously.
2. Freeing up more RAM - when nothing else is running anyway, how am I meant to do that.
3. Reinstall the game.
I have re-downloaded it today and just tried to load it and got the same message yet again. Not sure whether it is a permanent error or not but it is certainly getting more frequent.
I didn't have this problem on my old computer so am trying to figure out if it is something on the new one that is causing the error, but I am at a loss as to what.
Loaded it twice without an error now, but only time will tell if it is fixed or whether it is simply back as a temporary annoyance.
Sorry, I am not a maker of the game or tech support, just another player who is getting this error and trying to figure out how to stop it happening.
I am assuming it is something in my default settings on the computer since it has only started happening since I got a new computer a few weeks ago so I am working my way through various settings to see if I can find out what is triggering it.
1. it's normally because of high latency or force logout from the game like connection issue or ur pc had power out anyhow. somehow this problem trigger the error like u got
2. for some case, it's because of VPN so try to not use VPN while playing
3. try use DNS like 1.1.1.1 or google DNS to prevent the error
solution? well there's no legit solution tbh but... u can try this
1. Login around 1-2 hour before server reset (like 4am or 5am in USA time), if u can login at this our, your game would run normally even at any hour u play
2. Try to use different account of steam, login into game, if you can login, then just logout and back to your main account
3. this is another method that i found, sometimes, when the game seems like to start, at homepage (u know when it appears the "start game" button) wait like 5-15 minutes before u click "start game"
hope this will help u guys... sorry for my bad english btw xD
Normally when I have been logged out of the game I can get right back into it again (or at least on the second attempt if not the first). The problem mostly happens when I first try to run the game.
I am 100% sure it is not an internet problem or power outage.
I don't use VPN at all.
I have no idea how that DNS option would work.
I can't really log in at specific times like that. I play the game when I have time around work and other activities. The server reset in my time zone is (I think) around 4am. So logging in shortly before that is the middle of the night for me so it isn't going to be practical.
I only have one Steam account. Though I have noticed this issue is now happening on two different machines.
I did try the waiting to hit the start button, but hadn't waited as long as that. I will try waiting longer than I had to see if that helps.
I have been exchanging messages with tech support but have got nowhere in solving this. The last message was that it had been passed to the developers and I doubt I will hear anything else from them about it.
