This game is is technically local multiplayer, but because the timer is around 40 seconds anyone with a decent streaming connection can have players who are not local watch their steam and play on their personal phones from where ever. Even people beyond the first 8 can affect the scoring so it can be enjoyed as a local "multiplayer" with 3-8 people, but if you stream in the open, you could have your game fill up with non-locals and still enjoy the experience.
edit: The non local players will need both the stream up and the web based client to play but both easily fit on a laptop screen.
This may sound pedantic, but going to a party and hosting a party are different, you can play as they said with a web connected device with touch or mouse controls. To host, you'll need a dedicated machine that is not actually being used by a player, as each players screen is kindof specific to that player and shouldn't be shared as it breaks the games appeal.
if you look up the game outside of steam its 10$ for basically each type of hosting machine, but can run and is also available on these platforms.
Xbox One $9.99
PS4 $9.99 Steam
(PC/Mac) $9.99
Nintendo Switch $9.99
Amazon Fire TV $9.99
Apple TV (4th Gen and later) $9.99
Mac App Store $9.99
Humble (PC/Mac) $9.99
Fanatical (PC/Mac) (not sure)
Comcast Xfinity $9.99

hope that helps.
Why do I not see the "Everybody's in" option once all players have registered? I am using a MacBook Pro.
Thanks
I have downloaded Drawful2 from Steam onto my computer and I generate the room code for my friends.
I give my friends the room code and ask them to join via jackbox.tv on their mobile phones (they are in different houses).
The game starts and we all start drawing on our phones.
But then they are not able to see other people's drawings, or the scores ... only I can see that on my computer?
Does everyone have to have Drawful2 running on a separate computer/TV so they can see what is being drawn? If so, do they also have to buy/download Drawful2 from Steam? ie we all have to pay for it, to be in the same game?
Do we all have to buy it, so it is running on everyone's computers? It seems that way, as without it, only I can see what everyone is drawing. They cannot see it via jackbox.tv.
Confused.
Any way of streaming is working. It can be twitch, but it can be discord, probably skype, .. as long as you can share your screen you're good, even if not in the same room... so, difficult to categorize, I think ?
So to answer your question jamesfrost21, you have to share the screen of your computer somewhere. And that's all ! No need for everyone to buy the game.
same for me
Here are some tutorials explaining how to play the game with friends who are not in the same room as you. Basically only the host needs to own the game but the other players will need to have some way of streaming the host's computer screen (ie. via Discord or Steam remote play or Zoom etc...)
