Yes, as long as it has a browser.

is this game multiplayer or just local multiplayer?

This game is is technically local multiplayer, but because the timer is around 40 seconds anyone with a decent streaming connection can have players who are not local watch their steam and play on their personal phones from where ever. Even people beyond the first 8 can affect the scoring so it can be enjoyed as a local "multiplayer" with 3-8 people, but if you stream in the open, you could have your game fill up with non-locals and still enjoy the experience.

edit: The non local players will need both the stream up and the web based client to play but both easily fit on a laptop screen.

"All you need to play is a web connected phone, tablet or laptop!"

Yeah, but you have to start a game on the computer (where the steam-client is) to get a room-code? What if I am on a road trip and only have phones...? Or am I missing something?

This may sound pedantic, but going to a party and hosting a party are different, you can play as they said with a web connected device with touch or mouse controls. To host, you'll need a dedicated machine that is not actually being used by a player, as each players screen is kindof specific to that player and shouldn't be shared as it breaks the games appeal.

if you look up the game outside of steam its 10$ for basically each type of hosting machine, but can run and is also available on these platforms.

Xbox One $9.99
PS4 $9.99 Steam
(PC/Mac) $9.99
Nintendo Switch $9.99
Amazon Fire TV $9.99
Apple TV (4th Gen and later) $9.99
Mac App Store $9.99
Humble (PC/Mac) $9.99
Fanatical (PC/Mac) (not sure)
Comcast Xfinity $9.99

according to:

hope that helps.

is it bad when my other players cant see my vip mainscreen? is it enough when they only see their own screens?

So say I have no one to play with locally, can I still participate (draw and watch others draw and vote) in someone else's game on a server somewhere?

Is there a way to adjust the game size to be less then 8?

Hi there,

Why do I not see the "Everybody's in" option once all players have registered? I am using a MacBook Pro.

Thanks

Uninstalled because I don't have friends.

Can anyone help me understand how to set up Drawful2 remotely to play between friends in different houses.

I have downloaded Drawful2 from Steam onto my computer and I generate the room code for my friends.
I give my friends the room code and ask them to join via jackbox.tv on their mobile phones (they are in different houses).
The game starts and we all start drawing on our phones.
But then they are not able to see other people's drawings, or the scores ... only I can see that on my computer?

Does everyone have to have Drawful2 running on a separate computer/TV so they can see what is being drawn? If so, do they also have to buy/download Drawful2 from Steam? ie we all have to pay for it, to be in the same game?

Do we all have to buy it, so it is running on everyone's computers? It seems that way, as without it, only I can see what everyone is drawing. They cannot see it via jackbox.tv.

Confused.

Jackbox Games,

Steam now allows for a more specific game features list. A game can now have "Local Multi-Player" listed as one of it's features instead of just "Multi-Player". Please fix this and change it to "Local Multi-Player" since this game is same-room multiplayer only. Listing one of the features as "Multi-Player" implies that there is online multi-player. The same-room multiplayer indication should probably be written on the Steam store page itself as well, to avoid confusion. You can also mention Twitch streams on the store page itself.

Any way of streaming is working. It can be twitch, but it can be discord, probably skype, .. as long as you can share your screen you're good, even if not in the same room... so, difficult to categorize, I think ?

So to answer your question jamesfrost21, you have to share the screen of your computer somewhere. And that's all ! No need for everyone to buy the game.

One of the stupidest ways to get into a game ever, no wonder no one plays it. Is it so hard to just have random public lobbies in game?

Here are some tutorials explaining how to play the game with friends who are not in the same room as you. Basically only the host needs to own the game but the other players will need to have some way of streaming the host's computer screen (ie. via Discord or Steam remote play or Zoom etc...)
