If what you care about most in a game is # of hours it takes to finish all the content, go buy Darkest Dungeon. You get 100+ hours of gameplay. Of course, you've seen everything the game has to offer in the first 3, but you get to play it over and over for the next 97.
IAS looks, feels, and plays like an indie game. It's not fully ported to PC; the PC controls are awful. The gameplay and story are very good and I don't regret buying it, but to pretend it's anywhere near worth the AAA price is just insulting.
Especially seen on the characters. Nothing worse than a game where the characters are exactly the same in the end as they were in the beginning, without any developement.
It is not. You won't find that here. You'll find instead a lot of inconsistent writing, a ton of poor quality control in various texts, very convuluted and unintelligent menus, dialogue that's very forced and random and nonsensical at times, and very convenient and contrived "plot" devices dropped on you at various points in the game that make no impact on anything and get completely glossed over anyway and forgotten. It's all very average and forgettable.
Strange discrepancies in play time lengths of I Am Setsuna.
1. On Steampsy, the average total playtimes is 11.1 hours
2. On HLTB, average playtime for all playstyles is 27 hours 14 mins
3. On Gamefaqs, average length is about 35 hours for all platforms including switch (30-35 for PC and PS4). That's 350 votes in total, compared to 94 votes on HLTB.
If I were to hazard a guess, it seems many experienced/ nostalgia gamers may have bought and abandoned IAS early in the game before halfway mark. Could it be that IAS is being judged a tad harshly on steam by such audience?
