STAR WARS™ Rebellion

STAR WARS™ Rebellion

You used to be able to shut the droids up.
How did this change? its an odd feature to just 'lose'. I have zero reason to ever listen to C3PO or IMP-whatever. Anyone else having these issues?

I'm not talking about not translating or deselecting anything I'm talking about the 4 minute diatribe at the beginning that i can't get pass except by pouring myself a gin n tonic.

Move (Cut/Paste, not Copy) both BRIEF.DLL files from the installation directory to the SaveGame subdirectory

It didn't, your system configuration just doesn't support it

There's been some innovation since this great was designed especially in computing technology

If you install this great game on a device using BIOS firmware and then try to skip using a P/S2 keyboard it'll work as you remembered

Likewise on an appropriately configured virtual machine on an actual hypervisor

Actually on certain modern systems in certain configurations if you're using a P/S2 keyboard (noting P/S2 mechanical keyboards are superior for many modern use cases including live action gaming) it can still work

rename 2 files in the game files, someone knows what they are, ALbrief and EMbrief, these files need to be renamed. add "OLD" at the end of their names and save. this is how the briefing will be skipped upon starting a new game. add "OLD" in text right at the end of the names of both of these files and save the changes. then, when you start a new game, the briefing is skipped in like 2 seconds of stars flashing then the game begins.

rename ALBRIEF.DLL to ALBRIEF.DLL.OLD
rename EMBRIEF.DLL to EMBRIEF.DLL.OLD
This will skip new game's 5 minute briefings.
thank you!

Reading The Free Manual
"is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural."
Those can be centrally managed from R2 or SD-7 also
No thanks, i already knew how to adjust what the droids go on about...I just used to be able to shut off the initial explanation by space key.

Thanks @ TruthRealm for helping me get past that.
My pleasure
Isnt it supposed to be an ingame option?
or just mute it and wait :)
